The last known castrati, Alessandro Moreschi, died in 1922. The process was condemned by the church in the 1800's and I'm pretty sure it is now illegal. There are some man sopranos, but they are natural, not castrati.
Yes, if they can still sing in the soprano range after their voices change. My brother was a countertenor for a while, but then his voice settled in the baritone range.
It wasn't their wee wee's, they crushed the nuts. Thus they wouldn't produce hormones that lowered their voices. They grew with immense lung power singing very high indeed. But any boy can get up this high.
ya it's the Vienna Boy Choir, once for a school field trip they were traveling and we got front row seats to see them. I was literally crying they were so amazing. They have the most beautiful voices ever.

young boys are actually naturally sopranos! it's a very specific sound, but it's gorgeous.
