Well less than 3 months and mine broke. I am in the process of finding out how to get it fixed. The gearbox is acting up. It binds up, lifts the rear drivers up off the rail and locks up. Very frustrating. I hope BLI can fix this issue quickly because it is my favorite loco.
@52mrblue Well it is a good display engine, that is mostly what mine is used for. There will be a update soon, between you and me I just got the turntable in. Cant wait to get it fully operational!
@52mrblue even if they articulated it ,,still wouldnt handle 18"curves..My PRR T1 bowers Duplex is artulated and 22" curves is tight as it tight with this BLI Q2..Adarbros,check out my newest video.. pulling 20 tank cars with my Q2..Ordering up box cars and other freight cars to pull with my Q2...

I decided to research this beast. The real one had 7,987HP! The most any steam locomotive has ever had. That's 1,697 more than a Big Boy! It's pulling force was 100,800 (115,800 w/booster) and it weighed a total of 1,053,100 lbs! (tender + locomotive).
@slikkarl Yes it is. Just I don't think I will be transporting it. If you haven't already go onto BLI's Website and go to the support section and print the Q2 CV Sheet. This shows the CV's that they forgot to change. One of the ones on it shows how to keep the smoke unit off until you click the button, instead of it being automatic.
@slikkarl adaribros..that packet is sillica,,it keeps moister out electronics..remember there shipped by china and there out in the ocean for 30 days..i'd just got mine from ebay cheap and its on it way this week..cant wait..been wanting it for 2 years..i got a westside q2 .but im sellimg it now..i got the 6131 prototype..like the longer front side skirt..
@POWERWAGON79 there not wires there air and steamlines..i know alot about them because of my grandfather..big train buff..the crash is forwords and reverse switch...i have a bowser t1..how much are the sound controler/was going to get one from bli ..for 34.00
@POWERWAGON79 I use DCC. So i don't need a basic sound controller. A digitrax Set you can get for 150 dollars, but mine with all the special features cost 650. The basic is good if you will only be running one engine. If you wont, then Digitrax is the way to go.

@adaribros i dont belong to a train club..to another expensive hobby..call gas r/c boats..but trains are my first love..I just want a controller that i can funtion all the 28 features on it thats not going to break the bank.. Bad enough this is the most id ever payed for a train.. My first marrage id has MTH UP challanger and gas turbine and the SP G4..After the devorice id sold them,,wished id keeped them.
@adaribros just got my train today.. its defective..front drivers wont work..compaired both BLI and Westside brass Q2 for detail.. well westside Q2 has better detail on the boiler and BLI has alittle better tender detail..To bad westside went out of business in 87. If they was still around ,think they could gave BLI run for there money. BLI is alittle lighter then westside thow...just kind of bumed about the BLI front driver.. wanted to run it to see how it runs..
@adaribros Dont think he knew.. To bad some dealers dont test them before shipping..but you never know when shipping it couldve got bumped around to much? He had a sale on his last three Q2 and my 6131 was his last one...the other 2 are like your the production version. What BLI turn around on repairing? fast? I will be calling them in the morning... I will be posting a video compairing BLI and westside brass on the details..will try to post tonight.
Great Video and sweet looking engine. I've got a Paragon 2 NYC J1E 4-6-4 and it sounds awesome too. I love the extra sounds it makes like city workers, sirens and other background noise.

If you want all 28 functions You cannot buy the EZ command as it only goes to 9. The Zephyr Xtra can access all 28 and is very expandable.
