I remember back when this movie first came out, it was a joke at my school. I was told not to watch it, and I didn't tell anyone that I was really interested in seeing it, because I knew that they would think strangely of me. But now that I've finally watched it, I have to say that it doesn't matter if it's about "gay cowboys", because it's frankly a beautiful love story that made me cry. Amazing movie.
So sad seeing Ennish like that. Like he said "you got nothing, you don't need nothing".. loosing Jack just made him so lonely and isolated it's heart-wrenching. He finally realised how much he loved Jack when it was too late already :(
I wish there were more gay men like these two :/, today it's all about Internet dating and most guys think they can always find a better man, Jack was the only one for Ennis and Ennis was the only one for Jack, that's what true love is all about, as long as the one you love is alive, he/she is the only one you get goose bumps around, sometimes even if they die too early like Jack, you wish you just died to be with them again. Most people today don't even know (or are incapable) what love is...

to me this displays ennis has found a new perspective in life and learned to cherish what is dear to him while he has the opportunity. the greatest pain is not saying things to the ones we love in the moment and in this finite lifetime. weve all made mistakes in life. its about learning from these and moving forward as a person which is important. i think we have all lost at some point and are tinged with regret once that someone has left our lifes and not been able to redress the situation.

At the end in part 13 the daughter mentions she is going to get married. Ennis askes her if she loves him, she says yes, very much. at the end when Ennis closes the wardrobe door he says you'll never know, meaning that Jake would never know how much Ennis truely loved him. An AMAZING film. kev :)
