YOU DONT LIKE IT HERE THEN LEAVE NONE IS STOPPING YOU!! PUSSY ASS PRICK!!!
Best thing about this movie: they showed the OTHER side (albeit 1/10th the time). Not many movies show the "good guys" and then turn around and show the "bad guys" and their maneuvers.
I was an extra in this film (you can see me for 1/10th of a second in the trailer!). Even if I hadn't been a part of making the movie, I would have loved this movie very much.
@AllSingingAllDancing what u mean, actor, who call who is "bad guys":Vietminh or US army.I watch it It would be good film if it's the second world war,but it's Vietnam war which war american fighting not for freedom, Vietnam do that.I don't know who u are,and I don't care. This movie show everyone a great battle but destroy history,Vietminh won that battle not US.learn history
Hay lắm ! Trước giờ toàn phim cộng nô việt cộng chiếu xạo lồn ko hà. Mấy thằng lính bắc kì là lũ chó đẻ, chúng được xô cộng , trung cộng và bè lũ cộng nô nuôi dưỡng, làm đội quân tay sai đi xâm lược miền Nam, phục vụ mục đích bá chủ của xô cộng.
Tụi nó mang bản chất bắc kì, lại thêm được lập trình lòng thù hận xạo lồn nên cực kì tàn ác, bắt giết người như lũ điên.
Rồi chúng chiềm đoạt, cướp phá miền Nam gây bao cảnh đau thương...
We were soldiers... is not what you think. They explained enough though in movie.
The whole part when hes in combat and the guy in the suit... trying to do something (you have to understand this kinda but its not what you think). Ia Drang Valley was the FIRST battle... and Lt. Col. Hal Moore was the best the usa had at the time for "TESTING" something out and not only that, put to play other "fields" in strategy. He pulled it off alright. Not what you think.
And the Paris Peace Accords were quickly torn up. Great Britain, France, the US, and North and South Vietnam agreed to the terms. North Vietnam didn't care. They defeated South Vietnam in 1975 and unified Vietnam into a communist state in 1977. The military presence in Vietnam, to many, was only delaying the inevitable. We simply couldn't defeat the NVA or Vietcong (although one could argue that the Vietcong were dismantled after the Tet Offensive).
Because it was the first uncensored war with actual live battle footage and the general public was heavily opposed to the war in Vietnam (Public approval of the war was 41% when Johnson announced he wouldn't endorse his party for the next election), America chose to pull troops out of Vietnam. It's not because the troops were any less determined or demoralized. War is hell, and they know it.
I'm vietnamese. I was born over 10 years after the war. And in our history books, we say that US's support to the South is just US excuse. The true reason is they (US) want to make whole Vietnam become their colony, exploit vietnam's natural resources, and take all vietnam's unique, significant geographic advantages. Therefore, mission of the North is to rescue the South and to unite our country. We never ever want violence. And the truth is Vietnam won, US lost. That's all in our history book
@xuxixuxo0411 Only one problem with your "history." The US kept South Korea free from North Korea, and did not make South Korea a colony. The US did not make Japan or Germany a colony of the US after World War II. The US is leaving Iraq in 2 weeks, and Iraq is now a free society, not a colony. The US is not a colonial power, we go to war to establish democratic societies that will give us favorable trade deals (commerce), but we don't seek to colonize the land itself. However, war sucks!!!
@xuxixuxo0411 PS: We won the battles, but you won the war. But anyway, like I said, war sucks. You'll find that most Americans were opposed to the war, and most Americans hate war (as most humans do) regardless of our government's actions. Let's be thankful that the US and Vietnam now get along well, and we trade with each other, and that region in Asia is now free from wars.
@baileybushey depends. The US agreed to withdraw troops in exchange for North Vietnam agreeing not to invade the South. They broke that agreement. Its possible the US knew that would happen, but signed the deal so as to be able to withdraw troops. I'd strongly recommend anyone interested to google "The John Birch Society on Vietnam. (Worth Repeating)." that article was/is very eye opening
@baileybushey it wasnt really our war.. we were just there to help the south... and we did help the south.. we prevented alot more deaths than there would've been.. so in a way we won.. but it was norths home ground.. they were used to the jungle environment.. they were bound to do alot of damage t america and we all knew it!
@IFriedDaRice "we prevented alot more deaths than there would've been.. so in a way we won.." nearly 3 million people died inculding 58,000 Americans died. if America stayed these numbers would've tripled. America failed to destroy the Vietcong they failed to stop the north from promoting the war in the south and they failed to stop the north from taking over the south.
Pretty much the only reason why the US support South Vietnam was because North Vietnam was communist. The north was actually alot better than the south. I say we supported the wrong side in the war.
@lovatojonasfan1 "The north was actually alot better than the south"
I guess you have never lived in a communist country so you said that! In the minds of the communist leadership, the United States has always been their enemy despite the war in Vietnam or not! Why!? Because the policy of communism is expand around the world by violence! China, North Korea,... is a example! Communism was eliminated by the Eastern European and Soviet Union in the 90s of last century! You are so naive!
Now I'm not a communist, but let me remind you that it hasn't been only the communist countries, that have spread their ideology, values or political and economic systems with violance
@ikosabre soz must of misinterpreted what you said my bad. well whatever the intentions are in these wars good or bad imposing ideologies through a barrel of a gun doesn't work most times well that's my opinion anway.
look this movie is amazing whether you like it or not. people complain that the soldiers aren't bad enough- which sounds weird if you think about it and that they went shown smoking marijuana and raping vietnamese women. thats such a stupid complaint. this is a movie about one small battle. they don't have time for that. the war scenes are amazing. the actings great and i love how they go back and forth between the soldiers and wives. my favorite war flick after saving private ryan (duh)
@willebanan1 It really depends on what movie you watch. Real soldiers do tend to be at least somewhat patriotic. If you watch Platoon or Apocalypse Now you'll get the Vietnam War sans patriotism. All Quiet On the Western Front is an American war movie about German soldiers in WWI. Even Saving Private Ryan subverts the idea of a noble war. We Were Soldiers is actually done from both sides of the conflict and makes the NVA pretty sympathetic.
After reading some of the comments here I can say one thing:stop whining about the USSR or USA in the cold war. What they did was stupid. Rulers were ruled by fear and they induced that fear in their populace through various forms of propaganda.Just to be clear, the USA used propaganda as much as the USSR, the only difference was in their methods, that's all. While Vietnam was just another battlefield where the weapons of these super-powers engaged, the hate that came out of it still resides today.
I'm an American, and a student of history and I will admit it. The United States lost that war. Communism did not spread because in the end it was not any better than Capitalism. The Soviets and the Chinese squabbled on the best form of Communism, and later the Soviet Union collapsed leaving no aid to newly formed Communist countries. Meanwhile China likes to still think they are Communist, but we all know they are not.
@MrGoingAbroad No, North-Korea is a straight up Monarchy dictatorship in my opinion. I'd say Cuba is really closest to the being a real communistic country still and Vietnam to an extent.
@Kravis63 Nope, North Korea is the most difficult country to come in. Vietnam is kinda like China. Thinks they are comunist, but they aren't anymore. It's easy to visit Vietnam now and Cuba is getting open bit by bit, while you can visit North Korea only by a good reason. I think North Korea is the only real communist country. Myanmar is a dictatorship.
@MrGoingAbroad I would agree with you in the sense that N. Korea is the realy communist country when comparing it to say.. how the Soviet Union was once run. However, the Soviet Union did not have a line of blood relation successors to control all power.
@Kravis63 The Sovjet Union killed more people than German, Japan and North korea together. Only Stalin killed already more than 15 million inhabitants..... So if there was any dirty country, it would be the Sovjet Union.
@MrGoingAbroad Okay, I do not know how that is quite relevant to what we were talking about, but... Every large and powerful country in the history of the world has blood on their hands I do not think you figures there of how many killed are quite accurate if we also counting wars. The United States is not guilt free of such things either, remember we are still the only country that has ever dropped nuclear bombs on civilian cities.
@MrGoingAbroad Right on, pal. I'm just as mad about the atomic bombings as anyone, but I can't this country to blame for what a few did. A lot of our boys would have charged into Japan at the drop of a hat and won with honor; however what happend, happend and I pray we don't take that option again.
Still, you are completely right, the Soviet Union murdered(at last count that I know of) over 40 million people.
I wish folks would off this country's back and lay blame what it belongs.
@sackitt16 Anyway the USA has been gone to far anyway to attack Afghanistan in search of Atomic bombs and terrorists. A normal guy would know that they're there for Oil instead of the cause that has been given...... I'd never trusted any government....
@MrGoingAbroad wow holy shit, as long as i have spent in afghanistan i havent seen ANY oil, no oil rigs or anything, i swear maybe like sum top secret government shit must b going down and hiding it cause i havent seen anything in afg having 2 do with oil, or government must be sum sneeky motherfuckers, u no wat i think, 1 ur fucking retarded, 2 u should kill urself, 3 learn something about history
@Jimnu991 Which means we lost. The objective was to stop the spread of Communism in Vietnam and through out South East Asia. We (The Americans) left and Communist North Vietnam took over South Vietnam, to unite it into one single Communist country. We did not loose in the sense that North Vietnam took over the United States, but we lost in that we left and our enemies won the war.
@Kravis63 That's not really how it works. We were like the big brother protecting the little brother. We came in, beat em up for a while, and just got bored with it and left.
A soldier died in the field of battle and came up to the gates of heaven, where he met God. He said to God," Lord, I know I did many things i ain't proud of, and many more that you won't approve of, so if you send me to hell, I won't argue." God stood there for a moment, and then turned to the gatekeeper of heaven. "Let him in", he said.? The gatekeeper, confused, asked why. God looked down at the soldier and said," This man just came from hell."
I meant food and water. YOU CAN HEIP! You could donate food and water by donating to World Vision. They are not corrupt and make sure the money goes to those who need it. They help hungry families here in America too. They also try to help get teenage runaway girls out of prostitution. There are over 500,000 teenage girls forced into prostitution in America. If you are one of their customers stop it! It is RAPE and God will punish you!
I was at war with SATAN but I won 30 years ago by accepting Jesus Christ . It took me 30 years to figure out that SATAN work for God. Bad thing happen because your enemy is in your head, not anywhere else. National Pride is the cause of war. It is vital to protect your self. But you win wars by making friends with your enemies.
I have seen people die in war. Whose the Enemy? Us or them? LOVE YOUR ENEMIES AS JESUS TAUGHT! SEND FOOF AND WATER, NOT BOMBS.
I pray that are heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
in all wars there will be civilian casulties. so people blame the whole united states for the stupid or involuntary acts. compareing us to nazis. haha ok have fun with that when us americans know truly the meaning of it
@phudn Ever heard of collateral? what about the "civilians" that picked up weapons and fired? they still counted as civilians even though they tried to kill soldiers. Americans don't round up millions of Jews then kill them. EVERYONE from everywhere judge other people you moron... Also, learn proper grammar and spelling before you try to flame another country...
when a vietnamese gets shot he falls down and dies immediately
when an american dies he doesnt die immediately he suffers
you people always see the war in that way :bad guy and good guy
no it's not :first there are brave man on both side
second: they were fighting for what they believe that its right
third: vietnam has the unique tradition: never stop resisting, It give them power and will to defeat china 14 times ,france twice , the Mongols 3 times and Dutch, England and the USA
Arrogance and Hubris got 58,000 plus put in an early grave and for what,to bring Democracy to Vietnam? that was a lie war is good business and as long as we are tied to a economy that depends on perpetual war and the manufacture of the means to wage said wars we are headed for doom.
I thought this movie was great, def a grade A, HOWEVER I think it was very disrespectful of producers to totally exclude the South Vietnamese solders that played a HUGE role in this battle, they were ambushed while in route on the road, but they prevailed and ultimately saved the day, erasing them from this movie was one helluva bad insult
@Airgunhead1234 Please do a couple of researching before posting a comment
Guerilia consists of a small group commonly hidden amidst the tress which makes the usage air support a nuisance. And since your population is small, your area of cover is fairly huge and you are both:
1. Will confuse enemies of your location
2. Will die out of lack of cover fire
The Viets was very good at it for most of them are farmers who knows their land like their own shadow. I think you are talking about bomb attack
This is the most violent movie I have ever seen. And I have seen a lot of fucking violent movies,5 times more violent than black hawk down and saving private ryan combined
Yall talk like yall was actually in it. Those of you who was. than all respect goes to you. For all you bunch of kids saying "we" won the battle, yall didnt win shit. Doesnt matter who won or lost, children lost their dads and wives lost their husbands. Families were torn apart. No matter who won or lost, at least they had the balls to fight for their Country. How many of yall actually have the balls to step into unknow territory not knowing which step will be your last?
@GrizzlySpitter18 Umad bro? America is in it together. We are all one. Anyone could say, "We won the war!" Its the exact same thing as saying, "Our Country One!" Any can say it, as long as they are a citizen of the U.S. and are a patriot.
As a Somali militiaman once said after the Battle of Mogidishu (A.K.A Black Hawk Down) 'The Americans underestimated their enemy, and overestimated themselves.'
You people act like we 'lost' the war through these massive battles but in reality with didn't 'loose' anything. We kicked the Vietcong's collective asses in EVERY military engagement but inevitably we got tired of having to fight them on their soil. So we left. There is a major difference between getting your asses kicked out of a country and leaving it. We didn't loose the war, the South Vietnamese did. Go ahead and call me an idiot for saying that we didn't loose the war. I know I'm right.
The Americans lost because they underestimated their enemy, and thought that having supirior equipment would win a war, but had no idea how to fight a war in a jungle
My grandpas brother was killed on the beaches of D-day and his dog tag took 2 mg bullets pretty much blowing off his entire first name on the tag my uncle my grandpa made it home from Korea. was in Vietnam, his name is on the wall in DC and his tags are singed from napalm and i cant even make out his last name and i don't know if i gonna make it home when i serve in the army but thanks to all you troops and veterans cause they were all young and certainly brave

@AnitoPictures no, it is not bad that the americans lost, it is good, vietnam was not a war they should have fough, korea yes, but vietnam was ready for communism even if america didnt like it, vietnamese communism works perfectly. Im australian so i also contest australia's and frances involvement.
This is such an awesome movie, too bad the Americans losed the Vietnam war because they are too confident in their Air Superiority and Advanced weapons and was never prepared for enemies who used Guerillia Warfare and CQC
@AnitoPictures The Cold War was a rivalry. The purpose of invading Cambodia, Laos, and the aiding of South Vietnam was because Lyndon thought if Vietnam became a communist country, the dilemma of the "Domino Effect" would take its place. In other words, if Vietnam became communist, so would all the Asian countries around it. Remember, Communists hate Capitalists, which is what the U.S. is about, and the U.S. depends on Capitalism to be the sole of Democracy.
@AnitoPictures You're right, but technically I just learned in my history class today that we never lost the war because we created a peace treaty, so Nixon was not the first president to lose a war. Also, it depends on what you say is selfish. I see selfishness written in the Constitution. I mean Democracy is the idea of a loose federal government with a strong state government, so when Jefferson was president, sure it was good for a little but then things went down hill due to a loose F.G.
@AnitoPictures I believe that anything is possible, and most history is not documented because it all depends on who writes the textbooks. As I was saying the loose federal government is a bad idea because back around that time there was no amendment to levy income tax and there were no tariffs or taxes that would go to the National government, also if there is a loose government, businesses can monopolize, and even though the Sherman Anti-Trust Act is still around, people still disobey the law.
@AnitoPictures They won the war, Nixon won the war, but then the congress suspended all financement to the Southern Vietnam, to the point where they had no ammo , no medical supplies and no gas left.
Give me a break, When Operation Linebacker 2 ended, Hanoi was literally on their last ropes and were forced to negotiate a peace between the North and the South Vietnam. Which by the way was the entire goal of Vietnam war, is to secure a peace treaty between the two.
@cr9527 Let me guess, you still have no guts to see the true reports based on the eyes of non Americans. Dont choke the answer, learn to accept and stop making a fool of yourself
North Vietnam won because the aside from being unsupportive of the South Vietnamists, the Americans had become so confident in the pedestal of winning WW2. The peace treaty is just an excuse to hide the shamed ego of America.
Dont get me wrong Im not being racist againts Americans. Im just saying what is true
It wasn't the Americans who came crawling back to the negotiation table for a treaty, it was North Vietnamese.
The Americans have attempted many times to get a peace treaty throughout the war, with the North refusing to sign. After operation line backer 2, it was the North that came back.
@cr9527 Honestly, I wouldnt call it a victory if a it killed 1,624 civilians. Its like being proud that you made someone go down to his knees because you break the neck of his mother and threaten to do the same thing to his daughter.
North Vietnam didnt came for a peace treaty, they were FORCED for the Americans will kill more of their family if they wont sign. In the view of an Asian, I will call it a victory for the Vietnamist for they fought with much lesser brutality
America outflanks Vietnam forces when it comes to technology advancements however when they saw that technology has nothing to with safety in battle, it became too late so here is how it goes:
At first America fought equally but to avoid humiliation, they used the peace treaty as an excuse. When N. Vietnam refused, they considered it a threat for the oil that they could gain so rather than continuing a man-0-man battle, they used
Pal, the war started with a peace negotiation, NV refused, then the build up, not the other way around.
Your statement about the Nuking of Japan again shows your lack of understanding.
The decision to nuke Japan came after reports of japanese Draft, which boomed their army from around 200,000 to over a million in just a few months. It became clear that should the Americans invade Japan, they would be faced with nearly ALL of the Japanese population drafted into their army.
@cr9527 First of: Vietnam War started with the Chinese forces pulling out of N.V after WW2. This gave the Vietnamists an opportunity to rebuilt under the leadership of Ho Chi Minh. While S.V was surrendered by the allies to France. October 1946, France proclaimed that they wanted to liberate N.V (for the reasons of greed). November 1946 France bombed the port of Haiphong killing 6000 people. This ignited the war with US joining in for they fear that Communism will spread and their desire for oil
@cr9527 Do you know that your biasedness for America just set you into humiliation?
It is normal for a country who is in the midst of war to double or even triple their military activities. THe Allies just feared that they will lose if they went into a fair fight with such armed population so they used the Nuke on helpless civilians in order to attack the battle morale of Japan
Sure, slaughter are never absent in a war but tell me, is it right to use such attack in the name of a Peace Treaty?
1stly, it is Not normal for an army to tripple its size in the matter of a few months. Have a read on the comission regarding the plans to invade Japan, every part of it was documented, None of it was fearing the allies would lose.
As for Vietnam, I'm talking about the Vietnam in 1955, which was entirely seperate from the war in 1946. Don't pull a strawman argument.
@cr9527 1. The Allies had destroyed the invasion of Nazi's. Do you honestly think that Japan will underestimate the Allied forces?
2. Read the very first paragraphs in the Wiki about Vietnam War and the"Background to 1949". The war started in 1946 with France wanting to take over N.V. The war escalated in 1955 due to the supports lend out by countries that are Anti and Pro Communism.
P.S.
Dude, if you wanted a good argument, then quit being biased
1. Going from 200-300,000 troops to a million in a matter of months isn't about understimation, it is about the brutality of the drafting. Japan at the time did not appear to be willing to surrender, and would rather draft any capable man to fight than do so.
2. The French-Vietnam war is an entirely seperate war from THE Vietnam war. By 1955, the french vietnam war was over, and a massive relocation occured creating the North and the South.
@cr9527 1. Honestly, if you know that your enemy is strong and will endanger your land, what will you do?
There was never a brutality in drafting. They armed their Civilians for they dont want them to die without giving a fight. Though yes, there are some who were forced to be deployed. But hey, what country will not do that if they know and fear the power of the Allies?
And yes, their drafting was still useless for the Nuke was used on places without Anti-Aircraft weapons.
My point is, when the US was pulled into the war, the US have always insisted on a peace treaty. It was the North Vietnamese who came crawling back to the negotiation tables, not the Americans, who never left.
And again, ever since the Tet offensive, the North was on a losing streak. They were running out of troops, allies, and supplies while losing battle after battle. With Operation Linebacker 2, North was simply forced to negotiate.
Therefore, nuking Japan, while killing some 250,000 civilians, would've ultimately saved millions of Japanese lives.
Back to Vietnam, both the NVA, and Vietcong kill civilians indiscriminately, it wasn't only the Americans, further, the campaigns of Tet, Easter, and Cambodia marked the rapid decline of the NVA warfighting capabilities. They were on a losing roll, and with the Linebacker 2 campaign, that destroyed what is left of the NVA's logistics.
their technology and cared more in keeping their ego than the safety of Innocents which can be translated into the word: "Sore Losers"
Also. How exactly do you define a war? Is war for you a conflict between 2 nations or an inhumane slaughter of one nation?
Yes, its just like the nuking of Japan, sure Japan started it by a face forward attack on pearl Harbor which is a military base and the Allies ended it by using a superweapon on helpless civilians
I watch this movie.I think it have some problem
Vietminh did't kill prisoner,French or US army,we return them when we finish war

111matterman 1 month ago

That's all in our history book
xuxixuxo0411 1 month ago
@xuxixuxo0411 you have a nice book
uProllySuck 1 month ago
@xuxixuxo0411 Only one problem with your "history." The US kept South Korea free from North Korea, and did not make South Korea a colony. The US did not make Japan or Germany a colony of the US after World War II. The US is leaving Iraq in 2 weeks, and Iraq is now a free society, not a colony. The US is not a colonial power, we go to war to establish democratic societies that will give us favorable trade deals (commerce), but we don't seek to colonize the land itself. However, war sucks!!!
osallent 1 month ago
@xuxixuxo0411 PS: We won the battles, but you won the war. But anyway, like I said, war sucks. You'll find that most Americans were opposed to the war, and most Americans hate war (as most humans do) regardless of our government's actions. Let's be thankful that the US and Vietnam now get along well, and we trade with each other, and that region in Asia is now free from wars.

@baileybushey depends. The US agreed to withdraw troops in exchange for North Vietnam agreeing not to invade the South. They broke that agreement.

You are so naive!

look this movie is amazing whether you like it or not. people complain that the soldiers aren't bad enough- which sounds weird if you think about it and that they went shown smoking marijuana and raping vietnamese women. thats such a stupid complaint. this is a movie about one small battle. they don't have time for that. the war scenes are amazing. the actings great and i love how they go back and forth between the soldiers and wives. my favorite war flick after saving private ryan (duh)

@hunterkiller232134 They are way too patriotic, somehow they always come out as heroes in their movies. Just my opinion :)
willebanan1 2 months ago
@willebanan1 It really depends on what movie you watch. Real soldiers do tend to be at least somewhat patriotic. If you watch Platoon or Apocalypse Now you'll get the Vietnam War sans patriotism. All Quiet On the Western Front is an American war movie about German soldiers in WWI. Even Saving Private Ryan subverts the idea of a noble war. We Were Soldiers is actually done from both sides of the conflict and makes the NVA pretty sympathetic.
hunterkiller232134 2 months ago
@hunterkiller232134 Yeah I guess, but All Quiet On the Western Front is based on a german book right?
willebanan1 2 months ago
@willebanan1 Yes, it was written by a German. The film, however, was an American production.

Kravis63 4 months ago
@Kravis63 There is one real communistic country and that's North-Korea.
MrGoingAbroad 4 months ago
@MrGoingAbroad No, North-Korea is a straight up Monarchy dictatorship in my opinion. I'd say Cuba is really closest to the being a real communistic country still and Vietnam to an extent.
Kravis63 4 months ago
@Kravis63 Nope, North Korea is the most difficult country to come in. Vietnam is kinda like China. Thinks they are comunist, but they aren't anymore. It's easy to visit Vietnam now and Cuba is getting open bit by bit, while you can visit North Korea only by a good reason. I think North Korea is the only real communist country. Myanmar is a dictatorship.
MrGoingAbroad 4 months ago
@MrGoingAbroad I would agree with you in the sense that N. Korea is the realy communist country when comparing it to say.. how the Soviet Union was once run. However, the Soviet Union did not have a line of blood relation successors to control all power.
Kravis63 4 months ago
@Kravis63 The Sovjet Union killed more people than German, Japan and North korea together. Only Stalin killed already more than 15 million inhabitants..... So if there was any dirty country, it would be the Sovjet Union.
MrGoingAbroad 4 months ago
@MrGoingAbroad Okay, I do not know how that is quite relevant to what we were talking about, but... Every large and powerful country in the history of the world has blood on their hands I do not think you figures there of how many killed are quite accurate if we also counting wars. The United States is not guilt free of such things either, remember we are still the only country that has ever dropped nuclear bombs on civilian cities.
Kravis63 4 months ago
@MrGoingAbroad Right on, pal. I'm just as mad about the atomic bombings as anyone, but I can't this country to blame for what a few did. A lot of our boys would have charged into Japan at the drop of a hat and won with honor; however what happend, happend and I pray we don't take that option again.
Still, you are completely right, the Soviet Union murdered(at last count that I know of) over 40 million people.
I wish folks would off this country's back and lay blame what it belongs.

@usrocket selfish isnt it?
AnitoPictures 6 months ago
@AnitoPictures You're right, but technically I just learned in my history class today that we never lost the war because we created a peace treaty, so Nixon was not the first president to lose a war. Also, it depends on what you say is selfish. I see selfishness written in the Constitution. I mean Democracy is the idea of a loose federal government with a strong state government, so when Jefferson was president, sure it was good for a little but then things went down hill due to a loose F.G.

AnitoPictures 6 months ago
@AnitoPictures I believe that anything is possible, and most history is not documented because it all depends on who writes the textbooks. As I was saying the loose federal government is a bad idea because back around that time there was no amendment to levy income tax and there were no tariffs or taxes that would go to the National government, also if there is a loose government, businesses can monopolize, and even though the Sherman Anti-Trust Act is still around, people still disobey the law.

@AnitoPictures
So now you have retreated to saying that it's not a victory because 1624 civilians died.
This was war, ever since WW1, factories, roads, bridges, were fair game for both sides of the conflict.
If you want to count civilian casualties, why don't you count how many were massacred by the VC, and the NVA.
The Hue Massacre by the NVA, where some 2500-5000+ civilians were murdered, in person.

@cr9527
LOL
How exactly do you define a lost?
America outflanks Vietnam forces when it comes to technology advancements however when they saw that technology has nothing to with safety in battle, it became too late so here is how it goes:
At first America fought equally but to avoid humiliation, they used the peace treaty as an excuse. When N. Vietnam refused, they considered it a threat for the oil that they could gain so rather than continuing a man-0-man battle, they used

@AnitoPictures

AnitoPictures 5 months ago
@AnitoPictures
Don't pull a strawman argument.
cr9527 5 months ago

@AnitoPictures
The 2 wars are entirely seperate!
cr9527 5 months ago

@cr9527 2. And you point is?
AnitoPictures 5 months ago
@AnitoPictures
