I really wanted this to be better, Skylar Astin is just not good as Mark, Aaron Tveit is a great singer, but he isnt Roger, he doesnt have any grunge in his voice and Roger really needs some of that rocker tone. Tracie and Nicole are amazing, but Vanessa....yah, not so much. Oh well, my favorite song from this particular production is Take me or Leave me.

@dumbazzkrystle 1) I had seats that were pretty far back, so if I filmed the stage, it would've been pointless because you can't see anything anyways, 2) about the screen - i had to bend my head way far back just to see it; it was practically nosebleed, so trying to capture it on film would be pretty pointless 3) i wanted to enjoy the show myself & i didn't want to bother the people behind me with the glare of my camera, so I wasnt really aware where I was pointing it.

@dumbazzkrystle and 4) even though you can't see anything, i decided to post these videos because the audio is pretty damn great coming from my 3-year-old point and shoot. there are many other videos out there with better picture quality, so why don't you go and search for those instead. thank you.

I genuinely wanted to like this, because I'm such a Renthead, but it just proves that Theatre acting and TV/Film acting are so different.

Vanessa has no idea what she is doing with the character and Mark doesn't even sound like he's acting this!

Plus the extra orchestrations are so irritating

Aaron was a better Fyerro on Wicked then a Roger he had that Wicked sound and it just doesn't go.

Vanessa is trying to hard.

Once again this decidely average and halloween was one of the worst professional versions I've heard. Roger isn't gritty enough. Hudgens isn't as bad as I thought she'd be but overall, I think the worst is not actually the singing.

The orchestration is really annoying, the interfering violin (during Mark's "are you insane there's so much to care about" and from then onwards for a short while) destroys the beauty of Larson's score for Goodbye love.

I so wanted to like this as well.

@TheatreFord I absolutely agree about the orchestration. This is one of those places where less is more. The rhythms and notes really detract from the vocalists. Have you heard the trumpet they threw on some other songs? Just bad.

Where Mimi and Joanne were ranting was WAY too slow. It needs to be much nore driving and quick. That was really my only problem other than Benny overall horribleness.

I love this. Halloween was great, and Goodbye Love was pretty good, especially the Mark and Roger scene - I could sense the anger and bitterness there between the two, and between all the couples. A good performance, over all! Thanks for sharing!
