  • Absolutely serious question: is there a country on Earth that Catholics can feel good about living in? Italy? Philippines? Seriously, this really irks me that just about anywhere I look the decay of the church is prevalent.

  • @thegettig Hi ! I live in the Philippines --- for now the faith is still alive but mind you --- it is starting to get polluted as well --- the issue regarding contraception ( called the RH Bill) has divided the faithful --- there was even a public debate about it and guess who is on the pro-side of the RH Bill --- priests and a Jesuit to boot! Dear Lord --- it is terribly disappointing! There is a lot of anti-Catholic sentiment going around here. We're in the same lot as the rest of the world.

  • Any news on where I'll find RCTV in Madrid?

  • @wishourselvesaway Our website with the trailing URL nobullinmadrid has information - keep checking it! More info to come soon!

So, slash nobullinmadrid after the main URL of what we are. Which is obvious, but YT doesn't let you post URLS unless you mask them somehow. So this is me, masking a URL.

  • In my former diocese, our bishop was a very nice man. Personally he was quite orthodox and looked great in his red cassock. The diocese, however, was placed under the control of a female, feminist chancellor who filled the chancery with New Agers and Marxists. The bishop loved "dialogue," but nothing ever seemed to come of it, except legalized euthanasia and one of the highest per-capita abortion rates in the country.

  • Amazing. A little saddening too, but this is what we need. Not more Call to Action Puppet Masses.

  • It is sad to see that people think that doing the Homosexual things is right... We have to fight, remember this life is to not be easy. We only called to try with our soul. Then God will do the rest. If they truly are priests they need to say the COMPLETE truth!! Please pray for me... as within five years, God willing. I will enter the seminary, I hope and pray i will become a priest and say the COMPLETE TRUTH. One day Mike, one day..... One day I hope to talk to you in person... God will say...

  • You can complain til the cows come home. Certain bishops will take up the cause in WORDS only. Look at the Kennedy funeral. What a joke. Our church is mostly all talk about abortion with no consistent action! One bishop in a no account diocese will ban communion to pro choice politicians, but none of the "powerful" diocesan bishops will do anything about it beyond words. As long as there is not single voice and single course of action, this stuff is going to go of forever. Lay people=no voice.

  • Right on!

  • Well delivered , Mr. Voris! While it is certainly true that the Church is in very dire straits in so many dioceses, would it not be a bad idea to approach society with a 'joyful orthodoxy'? Certainly I am not trying to imply that we should neglect hard-nosed criticism when its necessary, but so many of The Vortex shows are mostly negative that I wonder if it wouldn't be a bad idea to have more videos depicting the joy of being truly Catholic? Wouldn't this approach would win many converts too?

  • @radagast155 It is very true that the joy of the faith is needed - which is why we created the show Majesty of Faith and, indeed, the whole of our website. The Vortex is a small part of what we do - but people like the bad news, it seems ....

  • @RealCatholicTV Yes, admittedly, it seems that the Vortex is the sensational show of the bunch. I'll definitely have to check out Majesty of Faith. While it is true that the Church must walk the walk in addition to talk to the talk, does that mean we should neglect any sort of dialogue? When I say dialogue in this case, I am referring to it as a a means by which two parties are attempting to find the truth in a given matter.

  • @radagast155 Any dialog which begins by denying the Church does have the truth is pointless. Dialog has to have the potential to persuade those in error. Remember; dialog will never lead to truth if we forget that the Church has all the truth. If we go into dialog with the idea we can discover truth by listening to something other than the Church, then we are already abandoning the truth.

  • Practically speaking, it is impossible to remove every heretic DRE, disloyal bishop, ex-communicate everyone who is not on board with the Magesterim. There are way too many such persons. It would require an inquisiton. It is too entrenched. There would have to be a worldly chastisement.

  • @lauermar But, because of the mortal nature of man and the immortal nature of truth, in a few short years the whole Church membership will have been replaced. We should work to make sure the next generations are better educated and faithful.

  • @RealCatholicTV How true. And because of this truth, I am changing my focus from trying to convert or revert friends and family who are hardened moral relativists to ensuring that my children and the children I work with are truly educated in the faith (unlike I was in the 70's--can you say "folk mass"?)

  • @lauermar How about the hierarchy just starts with the real blatant public sinners. public personalities who have caused grave scandal and confusion among the lessor informed brethren. Isn't that doable? Anything is possible if the Lord wills it!

  • Links to things mentioned in Vortex are in description

  • To be a real Catholic, don't you have to agree with the Pope no matter what he says?

  • @djpob One has to agree with everything which the Church teaches as doctrine - that is not everything the pope says (if the pope, for example, speaks on something which is not doctrinal). Catholicism is following the teachings of Jesus Christ, not the man the pope. Certainly, the pope is protected from teaching error regarding the doctrines - but he can make mistakes on other things. And, of course, one should always listen to the pope even when he speaks non doctrinally.

  • @djpob "He who hears you hears me" (Luke 10:16), and "Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven" (Matt. 18:18). Infallibility is not the absence of sin. Nor is it a charism that belongs only to the pope. Indeed, infallibility also belongs to the body of bishops as a whole, when, in doctrinal unity with the pope, they solemnly teach a doctrine as true. We have this from Jesus himself, who promised the apostles and their successors the bishops, the magisterium of the Church.

  • This exactly describes the situation in England - our hierarchy are selling out to the media and left wing politicians. Are you coming here next?

  • What a depressing yet accurate image you give us again of a Church attacked on all fronts, from without and most certainly from within, truly a work of the Devil.

Deo gratias for the faithful remnant and people like you to bring out the horror. +JMJ+

  • It's astonishing how much "dialogue" has infiltrated its way into the Church's thinking. For nearly 2000 years the word dialogue almost never appeared within the Church's magisterial teaching. Since Vatican II absolutely everything has to be understood as based on dialogue. Even the Trinity is said to have a dialogic structure. Where did all of it come from?

  • Why aren't the Bishops/Cardinals throwing these public sinners out of the Church? Not just cowardice, I think some of them maybe homosexuals themselves and sympathizers with the agenda. The smoke of Satan has filled the Church and is choking the faithful. My only solace is that I know the Church reigns triumphant . It's just painful to watch. Thank you so much Michael, you speak the truth and shed light into the dark corners, you make the roaches scurry for cover. God give you Grace Abundantly!

  • If the world and the liberal clergy are patting you on the back, you're probably doing something wrong. If you make them uncomfortable, full speed ahead. We need many more Catholics making the liberal clergy their chummy liberal laity very uncomfortable.
