Nope, he said "just one anecdote to show that im not the worst in this thing". And by 'this thing' he obviously ment some sort of field like atheism or biology and not the actual room he was in and he wasn't comparing himself to Tyson but to a former editor of new scientist magazine of whom made that "science is interesting..." quote.

'this thing' was referring to Tyson's remark that Dawkins' unappologitec manner of explaining his theories isn't the most affective way to win people over, basically Tyson was saying that Dawkins should be less abrasive with his presentation of his theories, and Dawkin's quoting the former New Scientist editor was his way of saying he isn't the worst person for putting his point across forcefully.

Not really. That video was taken out of context. He was actually quoting another person by saying his own methods arent the worst ones in the field of science - indicating that that person he was quoting was worse.
