Have you ever seen the CE camo? as used by the french? It would be perfect for Malta.and have you seen our Auscam it would be perfect for Maltese summers with it's lite green and brown. Ripstop in winter is'nt good, polycotton is best for windproof BDU's .Also a good lasting deadly accurate reliable assault rifle is the HK416.Mate! it's in service here in Australia with the SAS, we use the Styer Aug as standard and it can be used as an smg, gpmg etc for a side arm we use the 9mm Browning.
We have some Goretex jackets in French cammie. Computer dot new cammie schemes like Ozzies, Yanks, Germans and Italians aren't yet contemplated here. The Maltese winters are becoming too short to even bother about thicker BDU materials. Weapons-wise, the Chinese AK47 in hand serves very well, with Beretta 92F as a sidearm.
Very well done with the Baretta 92F,extremly good pistol. So chinese AK'S are made by a company called Norinco?,Cause when I lived in NYC I had a chinese Ak,well built and very reliable like it's Russian bother.Anyhow keep up the good work God Bless Malta and send those immigrants back mate!
Dear Naduri, our AKs came direct from China, manufacturer there in unknown, unlikely from Ghajnsielem though ! (LOL:-), Migrants thus far have skimmed by onto Italy's Lampedusa island!
The FNs are used mainly for their blank firing attachment capability & for ceremonial duties. Actual standard assault rifle is the latest Chinese version in hand of the classic AK-47, with foldable butt, etc. With so many internal-security commitments, time for training is a luxury not all can afford.
cool video,But I hope you guys don't have the American woodland camouflage as offical for Malta.you guys the Central European for winter and 3 COLOR DAY DESERT for summer. Also FN's are to big for urban warfare get the HK416 with 14.50 barreland you 'll be very wellarmed.good training keep it up Malta
Yes, the main American woodland pattern in ribstop material is used, both for summer & winter (regretfully for the latter). Thus far, on C (Special Duties) Company, 1 Regt AFM, have adopted the desert version of that pattern. Initial evaluations in summer here seem positive, as much as the 1991 choclate-chip version that went to become so popular as well with many Arab states, but not contemplated for here.
FN FAL in use is cal. 7.62mm It's favoured as a training scenario weapon given its reliability, despite its being rather long for indoor use. Otherwise, AK-47s with blank firing attachments (BFA) are alternatively used too. It's agreed & of general consensus there shouldn't be a mix & match of ammo types on missions, but some experienced folks on the special forces' realm may disagree, as for them it may depend on their assigned mission, ongoing roles & duties when deployed in the field.
More often than not, it's the quartermaster's stock in hand and budget size that dictates what's goes on ops, rather than the contrary. hence, the reason why it's best to keep them QM blokes happy at the pub with an extra pint of beer!
What have you done to poor old White Rocks...I loved that place and had some wonderful holidays there.

No, using the Belgian FN FAL, not auto version though. Now replaced by Chinese AK-47 or their latest equivalent...

Smart to stick with the FAL. 5.56mm weapons have several dissadvantages. And it's good to have your GPMG and rifle use the same cartridge.
