  • This isn't a song, this is a disgusting anecdote

  • This was a mid sixties parody of Last Date.

I was out on a date in my daddy's car. We hadn't driven very far. Etc...

I think it was by Joe Frank and the Knights but not sure.

  • Was this song made to make fun of The Shangri-Las - Leader of the pack? Because half way through after he sang "Thats when I met the leader of the pack" and the car crashed....it seemed to be a bit like a Parody of it. Anyways this is the first time I've ever seen what Jimmy Cross looks like and when I saw him I was so shocked for he looks just like my boyfriend! They look SO similar - I actually thought it WAS my boyfriend for a split second, lol! :-)

  • @CherryCakeLane Oh it is not Jimmy Cross picture in the video, I used picture of the actor Sal Mineo....

  • Last dance to Mary Jane, one more time to feel the pain...

  • Who was the genius that thought violent car crashes, death, and necrophilia were good themes for a pop song? lol

  • Bad, but not as bad as Justin Bieber

  • I think he's making fun of that Elvis song where he starts talking in the middle

  • motor cickle

  • It was a three wheeler towing a house trailer full of weightlifting equipment and bricks of C4.........it's possible.

  • How did a motorcycle destroy car. I could see it wrecking it, but not killing a passenger and throwing their body waay over there.

  • So...he's a necrophiliac?

  • This is so hilariously tasteless

  • I ain't hird dis cents da ode daze uv Doktir Dementoe bak inn da sevinteez'

  • good presentation this was number one in Kenny Everet s worlds worst records

i still looking for another from it daniel and revelations you can download the show on line for nothing you can see why this was number one

  • This is a story, not a song LOL.

  • Wow this is just terrible.

  • Very buried cherry

  • My god, the song just becomes so creepy after 2:09.

  • Thank GOD I found this video again. When it was removed I panicked!

  • Dosen't sound at all like the version I just listened to by Mason Dixon. As a matter of fact this is a different sound altogether from the rockabilly song that goes by the same title. This song was a worth the listen, other than that "My Boomerang Won't Come Back"......remember Charlie Drake.

  • I have a little known tune by Jimmy Cross called "The Ballad Of James Bong". Its one of those tunes that never made the charts. I bought the original acetate master disc that came directly from Tollie Records after they went bankrupt. Check out this little known song on my channel!!

  • I'm reading James Ellroy's "Blood's a rover". Sal is one of the characters and Ellroy isn't merciful in his depiction!

  • Why Sal Mineo? Was it because his dad was a casket maker?

  • @soppdrake Sal Mineo was because, he was one of the actors I had most pictures of....

  • In a mouuterrrrrrceeeeeeekel

  • Is this a song or a story?

  • Hilarious! I wonder if they had kids!

  • Oh.my.God. This song makes me want to throw up and die.

  • oh

    my

    god

  • I'd bet his girl heard him sing then jumped out in front of the mushhead on the motorsickle.

  • HAHAHAHAHA What a weird song.. i kinda like it xD

  • huh. sucked back then and sucks now.

  • what a blast from the past. took me long enough to find it. i knew the words but that was all weird song now even more so back in my day and we adults of today make fun of our kids music?

  • I just check this song from Wiki lol

  • well... it's better than friday!

  • @CormanBARBARIAN yeah both are songs deemed the worst but this is definitely better than friday!

  • @HWJASURY I don't think you can declare this in the same boat as the other worst songs ever, because this is a joke. It's supposed to be bad.

  • motorsicle!! xD

  • I remember this back in early 1965.

  • that song...and that accent...are now burned into my temporal lobe for a good two weeks...but somehow i don't really mind hehe

  • terrible song hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • "we now have the climax of the show, I've been saving this one, it's just the worst ever....." Kenny Everett introducing this record on 30th January 1977. I think it amused him though, he would have loved the video.

  • some mushhead on a motorsicle!

    I just don't understand...

  • TOO FUNNY! You have a great sense of humour!! And I love the song! I think Chili's used this song for their Baby BAck Rib promotion. I would love to find this record! Thanks for making me laugh! :)

  • this isnt even a song

  • Motorsicle.

  • thumbs up if wikipedia got you here

  • @kamtyrocks Jajajajajajaja yeah!

  • This is a great song compared to "Friday" by Rebecca Black

  • Ohhhh, baby, I DIIIG you so much!

  • what is this? i dont even-

  • words fail me to describe this song.

  • this inspired avenged sevenfold when they wrote a little piece of heaven

  • even the worst songs ever in the 60's were better than the most sucessful pop songs today

  • You gotta be from this era to understand the comedy of this song. It was released on the heels of the Shangri-las "Leader Of The Pack". It was a parody of that song.

Go listen to it first and then come back to this one.

The humor of the 60's was, well, corny, but that was back before corny was, well, corny.

Cool Cat Kurt Gross in Tennessee

  • i found this song by googling "what is the worst song ever" and clicked on the wiki link.

  • @Madinah416

Me too, there are worse songs out there.

  • @Madinah416 i found this by looking up the wors...DAMMIT you beat me to it.

  • @hytonightful hahhahahha but i have to honest, I've heard worse. wiki disappointed me :(

  • In 1977, British radio DJ Kenny Everett declared this song to be #1 in the "Bottom 30" after a public vote. This may not be the worst song ever, but it sure is amongst the crappiest ever released!

  • reminds me of the residents oddly. think they could do an amzing cover. lol

  • The worst song ever anyone?

  • Parlau, me too . . . complete with picture sleeve.

  • Marvelous! The world needs more necrophilia songs.

  • andy griffith

  • WHOOO WEEE!

  • I love the look on my friend's faces when you get to the coffin opening they realize they've been listening to him digging

  • Is his baby the car or a girl? bare in mind the video wasn't made by the song writer.

  • @Deathder

I was wondering the same thing initially but there are some clues to it being a girl. For one thing, you don't bury a car. (remember he digs her up)

  • @Deathder

he sang that he enjoyed to watch his baby tear her hair out at the beatles consert, OPEN YOUR GOTDAMN EARS

  • Classic love song.LOL

  • I absolutely ADORE this tune! My mother and sister thought it was the weirdest thing since the Yugo-

  • I dunno, but something about this song just makes me think about Ed Gein. Maybe it's just me..

  • Proud to say I have the 7" single here :)

  • not heard this song 4 years i love it

  • Mel & Dave

  • It aint 'Proud Mary' it's 'Spinning Wheel.

  • @Serenity7Ms Thanks a lot :D

  • @Serenity7Ms Thanks a lot :D Can you name the singers !!!

  • Ummm...for curiosity's sake? Who is the lady in the photo surrounded by roses that pops up all the time??

  • @ghostswerepeopletoo I think I downloaded the picture from the internet, form geneakogy site and that her name was Agnes....

  • @ghostswerepeopletoo It's Justin Beiber's dad.

  • @augie699 More like his grandfather...

  • @ghostswerepeopletoo It's obviously his baby.

  • In 1977 British DJ Kenny Everett named it #1 in the Bottom 30 after a public vote

  • @azlans76 just shows the lack of taste in 1977 england.

  • masterpiece! thank you!

  • Nice video for a great oldie. Is "The Fonz" parked at Jefferson High School in San Antonio, Texas? The arches look familiar. Jeff '63

  • THIS IS THE MOST FUCKING DISTURBING SONGS I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY WHOLE INTIER LIFE!!!!!THIS FUCKING MADE MY CRY!!!:*(((((((((((((((((((((( ANYONE WHO AGREES WITH ME THUMBS UP!

  • Thanks for uploading this classic!

  • I looked for this song for my mom because when she was really little (when this song first came out) her sister would play it to make her cry...she thought it was talking about a person...luckily now she knows it was about a car! lol

  • @lilwolf2014 I have yet to see any car that could scream and pull its hair out at a Beatles concert. Just sayin'...

  • @lilwolf2014 .... it's not about a car

  • catchy & maybe the worst song but i like it...r

  • Alright, that was pretty fucking funny.

  • this was on the CRIMINAL LABEL and what the hell is Sal Mineo doing on here as it is Jimmy Cross........

  • @startraveller9 Sal Mineo i am a fan and had some pics of him...:)

  • @startraveller9 I Think This Was Released On Tollie As Well

  • I've been looking for this for AGES !

I could not remember who sang it, finally got my Google-fu working & here I am !

    .

Thank you for uploading this xx

  • I taped this off Glen Gordon's KCSN (L.A.) radio show Play It Again Glen back in '78 or '79, and I still have that tape. Most likely it's decomposing in my closet, but I always hold on to what's important! Hilarious to the max. Love that rebel yell during the car crash. We also finally got an explanation of how the leader of the pack met his untimely fate. One of the most wildly rockin' death songs ever!

  • I remember my older sister buying the record and playing it for me back in 1965. It was funny and not even close to being the "World's Worst Record"...

  • I found this on Wikepedia: Jimmy Cross ( born 1938, died from heart attack 1978 ) was an American radio producer and singer. "I Want My Baby Back" was originally issued on the Tollie label and reached #92 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February 1965. It has since become a cult classic as a result of frequent airplay on the Dr. Demento show. In 1977 British DJ Kenny Everett named "I Want My Baby Back" #1 in the Bottom 30 after a public vote and it won the title of: "The World's Worst Record".

  • Thanks for posting! First heard it on a compilation album, released in the UK by DJ Kenny Everett, called "The world's worst record show". This was a radio show he broadcast around 1980, featuring records that were sp bad they were good!

  • Was the record green, not the sleeve the record???

  • Yes it was - a yukky sort of green, which I think was intentional. I still have it somewhere. Wonderful tracks, including Ferlin Husky's "Drunken driver", Nervous Norvus' "Transfusion" and Pat Campbell's "The deal".

  • Do you remember who sang Proud Mary on the record????

  • There is no version of "Proud Mary" on my copy. It was released by K-tel under the Yuk label in 1978. Perhaps there was a later edition?

  • It is a duet between a black man and a lady...

Maybe it was not Proud Mary... hmmm!!!

  • The only duet I can see on the record is "Spinning wheel" by Mel and Dave. Could that be the track you are thinking of?

  • WTF? Hilarious

  • Thanks Lloyd, this is the first time I have heard this song. Interesting I must say.

  • Great video and song..Never heard it before...5 stars Thanks for the share Lloyd..

    Kay..

  • This is without a doubt, one of the greatest Halloween songs of all time! Unfortunately, it was banned in the 60's due to a necrophilia issue.

  • You cannot have your baby back, she chose another ☺

  • awesome *******

  • Good Video

    5*****

    Thanks for sharing Lloyd

    Keep Smiling

  • Super re- post Eric

    Lloyd
