The NC BFR default guns are anti hard target. They do best against other BFRs, tanks, people in MAX armor. TR and VS BFRs are better for anti air/anti infantry. As a rule with BFRs keep away from people and crouch when you shoot as you can then take more damage. check out some of my vids where I pilot a BFR. One infantry vs a BFR and the infantry will win. Its not so bad with VS/TR BFR as its default guns can actually kill infantry/air/tanks. However NC BFR is king when it comes to metal kills.
As someone who has played this game for years, its rather painful to see it from the view of a complete noob.
Thats not medium armour your wearing, its standard armour reffered to as Pajama's in the game, its the armour you spawn in. Its the worst armour you can go around in Planetside. Pretty much if you go outside in that armour your easy pickings.
Hah, I saw several of my friends on the kill spam in this video. You need to go through the tutorial. Hit 'U' and look on the most right tab. There you will find a series of 'training missions' that will show you all kinds of tasks and teach you about what you are doing. One idea you failed to use is personal waypoints, you will learn about those in the tutorials as well as how the lattice system works (the 'links' you spoke of). Join and outfit and ask questions. Drop sniping.

If there is no fight around, press Esq + i for teleportation to instant action.

Also the extra zoom implant is garbage, best implant to get is the advanced targeting, it lets you see health on enemy and that comes in VERY handy.
