  • May pull fast but the technique's pretty awful if I'm being honest. There's no way this guy would actually be a good rower with those sort of short pulls, but I'm sure he's a hell of a football player.

  • The third time I rowed I got about a 1:32. This guy is a beast.

  • I can give you an advice for free.I am nearly 10 yr older than Darness see our push up contest on my videos also the 3 min boxing video .I advise about 30 min cardio Ie run every day.Don't take any notice if you like I am rank number 1 at 4min rowing and number 2 is 15m behind me don't take my word for it check Concept 2 my name is Phillip Cameron.

  • bad technique, bends his arms in before his legs are straightened out and back leaned slightly back.....

  • wow that erg looks tiny for him.

  • haha ahhh that is the ugliest technique ever. someone teach him how to erg and he will smash that

  • One of the worst techniques I have ever seen... :P

  • World record for 18yrs is now 1:17.6 Ryan Ng Yan Liang set in 2010

Great power there, have to go again, bit of coaching could he break the 20-29 of 1:13.7?

  • seriously, his technique is pretty bad...even though his score is badass

  • now imagine rowing that for 2000 meters

  • doesn't he play football for stanford? i'm pretty sure he's in ncaa football 11

  • @newtriertrevian11 Indeed he does. He's a great football player. He's also a great kid and hasn't rowed since this.

  • @newtriertrevian11 Check my page I am 50.

  • He has awful form

  • dude had that form shit locked down. he knew what to do.......

  • Jesus he's so tight. He needs to stretch more.

  • nice technique, another reason ergos dont float

  • i'd like to see him row 500 meters in the water and still go fast lol

  • @ChadAndrewsLovesGod Ha ha haaaa! Not happening! He would sink and/or flip!

  • @CrossFitAdvantage for sure. I just don't think he'd be able to move himself efficiently for a 2k race

  • @CrossFitAdvantage and honestly, the fact that he is probably 215 to 225lbs means he should be pulling that hard. I'm 180lbs and could probably do it in 1:21 once I get back to where I was last spring

  • sweet technique...

  • i dont care what anyone says that is still lethal for someone who doesnt row....

  • technique was awful

  • he prob does Creatine, or other supplments. thats why he is taht strong

  • he needs to initiate the power with his legs the leg drive was wayy to slow

  • @AxelPRC i agree he needs to do a lot of things better. it was his 3rd time and he sucks at rowing. we know this, he knows this. he plays football at Stanford University, doesn't row at all these days and doesn't really care. that's one of the main reasons we think the video is cool.

  • @SLEEVELESSLOONEY yea man all good. He does have some awesome raw power. My fastest 500m is now 1:16.6 but ive been rowing for 5 years although im only 205lbs. I must say the time he pulled with that form is quite remarkable. Is he a RB? im not from a Gridiron nation but i love to watch it

  • if this guy didnt lunge as much he diefinitely would have had more reach and probably would have done a hell of a lot better

  • it's annoying when people always talk about technique. Yeah his technique could use a bit of work but he's not trying to row in a boat plus this is only his third time. concentrate on what he was doing well (pulling really low splits), good job Geoff!

  • breaking his arms to early in the drive, opening his back too early in the drive, and popping the knees up before body over during the recovery. I'm even surprised he was able to get that time.

  • @Mercurja08 its only cus hes got the drag on 10 so its like hes basicaly doing weights but on a sliding seat

  • he pull all with his arms

i'm a rower i knwo how to get a good time

  • @Torben12345666123456 well done

  • that guy needs to spend more time with form, and less time with power.

  • @HaikuAutomation I agree, but it's kinda tough to get good form down when you're doing such a short sprint.

  • @HaikuAutomation Agreed. It was only his 3rd time rowing ever. He's a football player and doesn't row. Great overall athlete though.

  • thats a sweet time

but he does row like a spastic :)

  • It is officially the indoor record as recognized bt Concept 2. There are people better than you on the erg, Geoff appears to be one of them:) He weighs 255 and definitely needs to use his legs more. it was only his 3rd time rowing, he'll get better.

  • yea true im sure being 255 helps a bit aswell lol

  • Ha ha, yep! And he is able to produce an insane ammount of horsepower even for that weight. His overall conditioning is world class as well, I'd really like to see how he would do on a 1000m or 2000m. One thing I know for sure though, get him in an actual boat and things are no longer safe! :)

  • different sport, hes a american football player theres no endurance in that anyone can row 500m. there are no world class rowers who are 255 so i wouldnt want him in a boat but yea if you wanna see big numbers chuck him on the erg. There is a lot more to rowing than pulling on a erg

  • @SLEEVELESSLOONEY fyi hes not better than me on the erg not even close. Get him to do 2k i bet ill crush him 6:06 is the time to beat

  • @AxelPRC 6:06 for 2k? You're a heavyweight I'm assuming, or at least 19 years of age and a lightweight.

  • @HullaballooDude yea im down to a 6:04 now should be sub 6 by the end of the season. Yea im heavyweight and now 20

  • @AxelPRC bullshit

  • @akerbacker bullshit? i did a 5:58 early this year. Still 20

  • i just turned 19 and my best is 1:19 but still thats really good you just need to use your legs a bit more. How much do you weigh

  • i doubt this is the record i do 1:19 and there are people that are better than me on the erg

  • nice work man! wait till you learn how to row, you might be good! :)

  • We just found out today that this is THE OFFICIAL world record for 13-18 years old!
