Hey, I'm sorry for your loss. A really beautiful dog, that you have there...
My sheltie (dwarven collie) doesn't swim much, but when we dropped her in the pool she was swimming, then she went up, when we let her back in, she started swimming on deeper waters :')
Since she was afraid of the water... xD Then she got up, and didn't want to swim again lol. Dogs are so amazing.

Today at Aquatic City Center one of the lifeguards pushed a button that sets of a wave and I had to dive underwater dozens of times pretending I am drowning. And I acted like a submarine ambushing people.
I was kind of worried- as at 8' down I feel the pressure in my ears, but the vet said if the dog likes it, then it must not bother her. She never got ear or eye invectioins...
Thanks for all the nice comments (and info about your "water dogs"). I wish I still had a pool as my new JRT has just gotten fond of jumping in the shower with me (I can't keep her out) and I bet she'd take to the pool....
That is very impressive. My JRT is not much of a swimmer but he does love to chase water and try to bite it! Check him out, just search for Sammy the brave pup!
In case anyone is interested- I've started a new blog about my life in downtown with my "new" Jack Russell Terrier - Isis. Big culture change for both of us, but we are having fun. If you like seeing dogs in urban living conditions, I hope you like what I will be documenting.
Just a little training- started out with her on stairs and put her favorite toy underwater on next step- she wanted it so bad she stuck her head underwater to get it. Pretty soon she was jumping off side of pool to get her toys... Unfortunately she died recently from a cancer-like blood disorder. I have new JRT puppy now that I'm trying to train in pool but she's a little young still- stay tuned for a video of her...
thats amazing!!!

Hi kittygodmother- I replaced Jackie almost immediately with another JRT- she is already almost 4 yrs old. I don't think I could handle 2 JRTs :-)
Thanks for the info though...

There's a JRT in the animal shelter near you that needs a loving forever home, bad boy! Go get him before someone else does! You won't regret it!

Hey awsomecrazydude -
I'm sorry to hear about your "Jackie" and the cancer. It probably was painful to watch, just like months I fought w/ my Jackie's unknown illness.
Maybe you'll get a new JRT like I did...

Amazing! Thanks for sharing! We have a Jack Russell
terrorist of our own that's 11 years old (Molly).
She mainly terrorizes tennis balls and squirrels.
Can't wait to see how your new JRT progresses with
swim lessons. Good luck!
