  • What makes this more of a classic is that the new appliances say that they r better, where im watching this movie on my mobile Droid phone and in front of me is my HD tv, my Xbox 360, Kinect, and a cable box. Such great appliances!

  • ACTUAL SIMULATION!

  • that magnet and compactor scared the shit out of me as a kid

  • Rob is quite talented to be able to fix the A/C after what it went through earlier

  • 80's jam....tubuler

  • Maaaaan that computer's shit. People be talkin' about how it gives you more... and shit. Well you know what I'm tryin' to say? I'm tryin' to say is that... c'mon man, CRT? That little screen, that looks like a Dildo. I ain't tryin' to read what's on ma floppies with no DIL-DO.

  • that magnet was badass

  • god i love the little t.v. guy X3

  • Yay! Air conditioner gets repaired!! It was so depressing and bleak when he blew up. Glad he gets a happy ending.

  • I love this song.

A user named PiratePrincessDPGurl did an Kingdom Hearts AMV of this song. Look up Organization XIII Worthless. It's amazing

  • yep i think the lamp is the most cutting edge of all

  • @jackom2726 Dude, it looks like an EGGPLANT! it's not going to get more modern and chic than that xD

  • anyone else hear the song and think of Weird Science?

  • The junkyard song is in my opinion the only memorable song in this movie. I had totally forgotten about the rest

  • Lesson learned: the cutting edge of today is the obsolete of tomorrow.

  • The air conditioner scene here always gave me the warm fuzzies.... :)

  • @qfinite yeah, well. This movie was made by Disney, and with John Lasseter(sp?) as one in the crew, so that was the golden days. I might not have been born when this movie was made(i was born in the 90's) but i looove the classic old Disney alot better

  • The Computer sounds like HAL from 2001:A Space Odyssey.

  • @fightingwolf18 I'd say it is supposed to. The hanging lamp was supposed to look like Peter Lorre.

  • gotta say the yellow lamp looks more "cutting edge" then the fat purple thing

  • @TheGuzdar agreed XD

  • Cutting edge my ass. XD

  • What a bunch of showoffs

  • I like the cars alot

  • I have that computer in my nightmares lol

  • I love how the title says 9-11 and at2:13 a plane crashes through the building

  • @XxAIRSOFTN00BSxX rofl i agree with you it is as if it was an omen

  • 3:52 :') and the junk yard part was always horrible in my opinion :(

  • The Junk Yard part always creeped me out.

  • it's sad but in RL this helps reduce trash and recycle to make our world at least a bit cleaner 6:16

  • pause on 58 for r@pe face

  • Huh. A trolling computer before the age of the internet. How prophetic.

  • what does that mean? It means we're about to get 1987 in this beast

  • I wish he took the A/C with him. I liked how the A/C was finally happy and earned the boy's care and love. It's another one of my favorite scenes. Along with Lampy powering up the battery in that storm and Kirby saving the others in the water.

  • @ColinTheAwesomest sorry, not, "the", I meant, "to".

  • 0:37-0:44 If my Commodor 64 had that, I would actually be able the solve 1+1 in less than 5 minutes.

  • From LCD's to HDTV's, woofers, stereos, navigation screens, and ultra-nylon life of ease.

Everything you dreamed of on the edge!

  • i like that they criticize how we just throw away whatever we consider out of date with no regard to its history or what it means to others rather sad really

  • 2:44 XD

  • @exposed97 As it happens, John Lasseter (Director of the first Toy Story, and co-founder of Pixar) did the storyboards for this film! Then when he suggested that they animate the backgrounds in CG, he got fired from Disney

  • the part with the air conditioner always made me cry as a kid. and still does. just his suprised look that he even decided to come back and fix him makes me sad

  • dude what computer hasnt seen that? Nothing to be ashamed of there ;)

  • 3:33 - 3:55 Always chokes me up. Glad the writers of the movie included that scene- sorta ties up a loose end with the AC. And the music is lovely.

  • Did anyone else click this because they thought it had something to do with 911

  • could the boombox be more racist?

  • That song that the cars sing always disturbed me as a kid. It still kinda does now.

  • Who wrote that car song? Meat Loaf?

  • Have you hugged your air conditioner today?

  • it would b funny if they made a BLT for 2days appliances they would b straight up thugs lol

  • And now all that "new" technology is obsolete look at that computer. It's all too 80s.

  • "everything you wanted and mooooore"

.... that computer's voice makes everything sound so wrong

  • You all used to be/were/are scared by the car crushing part? I always found that scene (Heck, the scenes with the A/C, the Fire fighter Clown, the fat guy's shop with the dissected appliances, the heartbroken dying flower, this whole movie) more interesting than scary when I was a kid. Different strokes, I suppose...

  • Aaaaaaaw, the air conditioner........ ^_^

  • I am contemplating getting a newer car for myself. I love my 13 year old car. It was my first (and only) car. This junk yard scene has haunted me since I was a kid... when i was little and my family traded in our first family van for a newer one, i balled my eyes out then. i just cant get the image out of my head of my baby- my car- being crushed into a tiny cube.... =( I love my car! very emotional scene..

  • @ShiningStarLives I'm the same way man, I grew up with this movie and I simply REFUSE to ever scrap my first car 'Lilly' ever. I'd never put her through something like that.

I really hope maybe you find some other way of trading cars, maybe selling your old one instead?

  • guess who has a purple lamp in her room? guess who didn't sleep at night because of it?

  • The cars make me so sad! :(

  • "Naturally...We are on the cutting edge of technology..." yeah in 1987 maybe.

  • Rob's Mom must've been supper pissed to find a car, two boats and an airplane in the apartment without her concent...

  • Haha. Love that cutting edge technology. I think my favorite "high tech" appliance is the phone.

  • Is it kinda weird that their master, Rob, can fix appliances like the Air conditioner and Toaster, but in the sequels he became a pet doctor? I would have thought he became a repair man or manager of some appliance store or something.

  • @smashedatom Even the actress who plays Toaster in all the movies never saw the sequels... XD

  • @DarkToboki She ain't missing much.

  • @smashedatom Just because you can do something doesn't mean you want to make a career out of it.

  • @smashedatom I was hoping something in electronics myself, but whatever, at times I like to think those sequels don't exist!

  • It's funny how all of the "cutting edge" electronics in that song now look dated today.

  • @landshark295 And the main 5 are still, and will probably continue to be useful today. :3

  • @landshark295 Yea but you gotta remember when they made this movie (1987). So back then they were new.

  • 2:10 - 2:16 I just love how the're STILL dancing, even after the plane crashes through the wall.

  • didn't they use the same concept for toy story?

  • What do they intend to make with all those multicolored blocks?

  • Kid, you're too old for a blanky. Seriously.

  • @MnesomnesTears I'm not...

  • oh god...that giant magnet always freaked me out as a kid D:

  • Blanket: I'm glad the master has such good appliances...

    *tear*

  • 3:42 you kinda gotta feel sorry for the air conditioner

  • @davidevgen I don't think you were supposed to feel bad for him. If you look he's smiling while he's tearing up. I think the point of the scene was that he finally got what he always wanted and MOAR. Not only was the Master finally 'able to reach his dials' but he also fixed him and brought him back to life! To me it seems like he got the perfect goodbye from his master before someone else buys the house.

  • @halfdude true. but still

  • @davidevgen why? He got fixed

  • @Virus278 he just realized that he had gotten fixed by the master and had gotten a secound change at life. he got used by him and that was the last time too...

  • "WE are on the cutting edge of technology."

Reeeeeally dates this movie when a computer that uses floppy drives is calling itself "cutting edge".

  • 1:15 Ugh, my friend had one of those projection TVs. I thought it was kitschy and stupid back then too. The colors didn't blend right so the picture was tinted red green and blue in several parts.

  • @valentinedeer214 Still, we had our day. It's weird looking back on this now and have to laugh at it in that pathetic way since it's all in the past anyway.

  • This would be kick ass sync'd with a Nine Inch Nails song

  • Song at 6:18 is so epic.

  • Discrimination of the old fashion technology from the new fashion technology.

  • 0:33 Who has a tile floor in there bedroom? Or a bed in their kitchen? Seriously, what the crap is that?

1:23 Okay now that, just makes no sense what-so-ever...

  • @RandomJayne I think the tile floor was a major 80s thing. this movie WAS made from 85 to 87 lol

  • @chumon1992 Not in the bedroom. When has there ever been a bedroom in the entire history of mankind that DIDN'T have a carpeted floor?

  • @RandomJayne in the 80s? lol they did alot of strange things then cause they were in lol

  • but i do want an oven that will spit out muffins if i throw a bowl of dough in

  • lol cutting edge of technology then but now junk status

  • Ok, now they're in the DUMP? I'm starting to think Toy Story 3 was really just a disguise by Pixar to remake this film in some way.

  • @RoseNoir90 that actually makes sense in a way because the toys did think Andy abandoned them at first and them going to a junkyard so yeh maybe so :)

  • At 2: 20-Yeah well, don't get too smug clunky steel vac...because now my Dirt Devil cyclonic action vaccuum epically PWNS YOU BOTH!!

  • Lol cutting edge. that computer xD ahahaha the phone XD That is hilarious. Just proves how old this movie is. Its so intense though.

  • I wonder what my computer and my television think of me now. I've jizzed right next to them 100X times!

  • @MADDOG6400 I bet it turns them on. Why do you think they supply the viewing material?

  • I wish my comp could do that, but all it does is everything else >_>

  • The master shouldnt have forgotten them in the first place :(

  • @sararudd92 Um you realize he was like 5 when they were last at the cottage right? XD

  • "Naturally. We......are on the cutting edge of technology." (an iPod enters) Or not....."

  • "We are on the cutting edge of technology."

    Enter the Ipod.

  • Pfff that computer sounds like a Mac

  • It's a good thing Rob was before Andy!

The More song is really starting to annoy me!

  • the lamp, computer and the others in the apartment are so annoying!

  • This makes me feel good about being a poor college kid; everything in my apartment is old appliances and furniture familys has given me or that I got at Value Village or something. :)

  • old computer: naturally...we are on the cutting edge of technology

    apple mac: HA...yeah right.

  • @blackchickiedee7 I-Pod: Your telling me!

  • @blackchickiedee7 this movie was made back in 87, so ya

  • If only that toaster was patient enough to wait a few more days in the cabin, all of this would have been avoided.

  • not gonna lie, i teared up at the air conditioner too. lol

  • @evilfoukaire Amazing how the Master, Rob managed to fix the air conditioner. Must've learned how to repair air conditioners in school or something.

  • The cutting edge from the 80s ahahah!

  • Kind of ironic to put these songs in a row this way. Vintage cars are superior to the modern ones. If I won the lottery (though I don't play it) I'd never buy a new car...but I'd buy lots of old ones.

  • Yeah, we all remember how functional those late eighties computers were...

  • that air conditioner getting teary eyed made me teary eyed too.

  • hey the lamp of the cutting edge's gang is not as fancy as lampy... i mean... do you knwo how comftable is that kind of lamp? they can bend to anyplace you want, perfect for drawers.

  • i love itt:

"where is the toaster?" *thrown out of the window*

    "where is the bacume?" "nooooooooo!"

"whats happenign!? where is the radio? were is the lamp and blankie!?" "aaaaaaaaaaaaaah"

  • I love how the title is 9/11 and there is an airplane crashing through the building;)

  • @EPLWSCCR I never knew the arpartment was inside the world trade center.

  • @EPLWSCCR

the icing on the cake is where it says 'simulation' after it crashes

    CONSPIRACY THEORY!!!!!

  • I always cried at the air conditioner part

  • good god, i really hope this isnt what my appliances do while im asleep in my dorm at night

  • This movie made me super paranoid about my home appliances. My computer has seen me masturbating, and no-one else can ever find out...

  • @videogamenostalgia We can arrange it to have a... Little accident... It won't be telling no one... If you know what I mean by "accident"...

  • @videogamenostalgia

    M-Mine too... T_T

And 3:45 was kind of sad... The 'master' was too short to reach the air conditioner before, but now that he came back, he fixed him. To the air conditioner, I guess that was the only time the master actually 'played' with him like he did with the toaster, the vacuum, the lamp, the radio, and the blanket.

  • @videogamenostalgia Until now.

  • @videogamenostalgia Uhhh... ew.......?

  • @videogamenostalgia

    Best comment I've read today.

Don't worry, my computer has too.

  • "Naturally, we are on the cutting edge of technology..."

Ironic thing now is that they're kinda obsolete xDDD

  • @ybfan666 What's more, the "old" style of our heroes still work better.

  • Hey, mister computer. My Quad core PC wants a word with you.

  • @AlvinYTP lol

  • He revived the Air Conditioner! I didn't expect that to happen!

  • Man my ipod would be such a faggot

  • Pretty much this whole movie is all about how we treat obsolete technology. From the look of the comments below about how the Computer and entertainment system was once the "cutting edge" of technology, unless we change our ways about how we treat and develop technology 1080p Flat Screen Plasma TVs will end up in the same place as old CRT TV's with Rabbit Ears: The junkyard.

  • @Elenkeon Yes... which makes me wonder why the junk shop was treated to the same horror atmosphere as the junkyard. At least the junk shop is recycling parts of old thing to make new ones, shouldn't that be something we should endorse rather than use to terrify children into keeping their security blankets into adulthood?

  • all that was missing inthe cutting edge song is a singing NES

  • @treyblowski

    What about an Atari? XD

  • @treyblowski and sega master system lol

  • 3:34-3:54

    *sniff* That was...nice. *sniff*

  • @ninjawraith17 I think A.C.'s actually thinking "They were right. What have I done?"

  • @Mk97709

    No, no, no

That was MY reaction to that scene.

  • 4:30

Funny how the dumpster can spring 100 feet in the air

  • does one of the new age things in the song as twitter?

  • Yeah, well even those "cutting-edge" appliances are now shit in today's world. So they can eat our 55 inch 3-D 1080p television sets.

  • where is every thing?

  • Remember when computers that could display words against a black screen were considered cutting edge?

    I don't. I wasn't born yet.

  • @Apollomasque neither was i xD

  • I shed a tear when he fixed the AC T~T

  • when u watch movies when ur older they are alot more adult themed

  • @brancool88 and you understand them alot more xD thats why they seem all adult ish

  • Thumbs up if this movie is the definition of EPIC.

  • lil the radio is mean he threw the car out there lol

  • Ever since I was 5 years old, this scene always scared the living shit out of me.

  • masonic crap

  • hat compress looks like it has a huge grin

  • This is scary because the magnet was after them from the very BEGINNING. Every time it went for a car, our heroes were usually nearby... It's scary how the magnet was really trying to kill them.

  • omg I love it when the blanky is in paradise and then he cheerses to the camera

  • I bet that magnet crane thinks he's God in the junkyard, deciding who lives a little longer and who gets crushed.

  • is the junkyard magnet a rejected mega man wily boss

  • Lol the irony here is the toaster lamp and blanket are the only technology that isnt obsolete today. That computer is funny, wheres the tower? whys the keyboard stuck to it? that moniter is huge! the grahics suck as well :P

pretty arrogant computer for something that looks like a clunky comadore 64 :P

  • @zuriktul True, lamps like that and heating blankets are still of great use

  • @zuriktul that computer got replaced by a XP or a 7 didnt he

  • @Calegaea754321 LOLOLOLOLOL!

  • @zuriktul Even the vacuum cleaner (Kirby) can actually work.

  • @Logitah yeah, kirby vacuums never die, i have a 1970 kirby classic 1-cr and it works great, now im looking for a dual sanitronic 80 vacuum

  • This is a great movie, that I used to watch all the time when i was around 8-11 ish. Now that I'm in my late 20's, Isee it in a new way. Like the cars singing at the impound. It's scary. it's akin to people singing on the way to the gas chamber in the holocaust. I know that's extreme, but still, you see what I mean.

BTW- I have yet to see a dump that large with a crusher THAT elaborate!

  • @84ccipollini Really? I have one near mine with a crusher so damn loud that wakes me up in the middle of the fucking night!

  • next he's gonna say WHERE"S MY CAR!?!??! and i'll be outside being like"TAKE BETTER CARE OF YOUR HOUSE SUPPLIES ASSHOLE!!!!" ...and drive away

  • The song at the beginning is just...odd.

  • @FlammaMan lol hard ae its very odd

  • seein this almost makes me cry... i remember watchin this when i was 5

  • The 80's....the decade I never saw but now is coming back!
