  • This was shot at the Club Fais Do Do in L.A. on a Tuesday. I play a Scottish Kerler. See how many times you have to replay it before you spot me.

  • @KyleGibbons91 ... HEEED! Pants...NOWWWW!

  • sucks

  • PISS OFF!!!!!!!! THIS TOTALLY SUCKS! If they wanted to remake it they should have used bagpipes and horns.

  • I totally love this cover! It's so fun and it makes me wanna get up and boogie, or totally boogie in my seat! These guys rock! Gotta love it! Thanks for posting =).

  • SCOTCH TAPE!

  • i like this cover !

  • Remember I was here.Thai

  • This is literally like the RARE case where a REMAKE out performs the ORIGINAL! Props to BSR, but Ned's nuclear ass rocks this song.

  • @mjkmark

I'll second that. Dunno why peeps come here and dis this cover. Maybe if I'm a 70's guy, I'll appreciate BSR's original. But when you grow up in the 90's, This is one cool song. Horrible Voice? C'mon, what do you expect? It's Ned Atomic Dustbin at it's best.

  • @alvinpatacsil I don't Know why I put BSR....I should be BCR....Had a blonde moment...LOL. Thanks for the back-up at any rate :)

  • @mjkmark

Bay Sity Rockers. Didn't notice that as well. Hahahaha...

  • He'll be crying himself to sleep tonight, on his huge pillow.

  • woohoooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

  • AND Colonel Sanders, before he went tets up!

  • Ned! That was a freakin' riot!

  • New Ned's Live CD & DVD 21 Years 21 Songs available to view & order on my You Tube page.

  • One of my fave 90s band!!!!

    Great concerts too!

  • I hate to sound mean, but was the decision to do this song the primary reason why this band is in the "where are they now" section in the vinyl store?

  • Nah. They made another, completely different, album afterward with plenty of artistic credibility (Brainbloodvolume), but the label really botched its release and marketing. That resulted in the band accruing so much debt that they couldn't afford to stay as a band any longer. Check out the Stuck & All I Ask of Myself videos...

  • @greycell I actually love this cover

  • @greycell It was also released about 5 months earlier in the UK than the US so any hardcore fans in the US got it as an import.

  • Is that. . . Michael Richards?

  • Yep, with a side of Phil Hartman.

  • @greycell

Don't forget Mike Meyers and a few other comedians.

  • You know, Mom, it really bothers me when you refer to The Weekly World News as "the paper."

  • It's a shame this movie didn't do better, it's Myer's best work as a comedian.

While the Austin Power's films were a financial success, they typecast him into playing various roles in one movie.

Mike was definitely likable in that movie, lets hope his role in Inglorious Bastards gets him back on track.

Him and Dana are both vastly underrated and often miscast.

  • I agree. I thought some of that Scottish family stuff was the funniest material he's ever done. I wish there were more of that in the movie... or a whole movie about that family. "The boy's gotta gargantuan cranium! a virtual planetoid."

I do like this edgier, punkier version of Saturday Night also. The brilliance I think is in that wailing guitar playing that complex counter melody in the background.

  • good song from a great movie but a weird ass video

  • Hard hearted harbinger of haggis

  • Harriet! Sweet Harriet!

  • So this is why Neds appeared in the NME dressed as the Bay City Rollers...

  • i think the only thing better about this, is the SMOKIN hot girls, and the guitar

  • this is waaaaayyyyyyyy better than the bay city rollers version

  • RATT V JOHN PENNY TITLEFIGHT.

  • so i married an axe murderer

  • You diid? How did that work out?

  • excellent quality video and sound, great job restoring.

  • great cover song. I remember this from the mike myer's movie. ned's atomic dustbin was great!

    great to listen to!

  • This was a great cover.

  • Borderline weetarted .

  • hahaha the bass player with the long ginger locks is my music teacher! legend.

  • Love the highland dancers :) Hottt

So I married and axe murder was such an awesome movie

  • thanks for posting, i been wanting to hear this song for a long time, these dudes are cool, and i guess i'm old. ha ha

  • S A T U R D A Y NIGHT !!! THE NEDS ROCK !!!!

  • Ned's!!! How how I miss these guys...

  • I've been looking for this for a while. Thanks for posting it. I love it when music videos for movies have new footage with the movie cast participating with the band.

  • It seems everything from 1993 was great.

  • "HELLO!!! I ordered the LARGE cappuccino!!! hehehehe" Classic...period!!!

  • @joker1870

....... "Look at the size of this thing!"

  • Michael Richards is in this video. I still like him. I don't think he's racist. Like Mel Gibson , I think Richards was only looking to shock who was giving him a hard time because he was frustrated and angry. It's not right I know. But still, humans do silly things when backed into a corner. Switching topics, this song rocks. I wish NED'S would get back together and make care free happy rock again. I'm sick of Emotional, Political, Depressing rock that saturates society today.

  • this movie has one of the best lines ever. it's when mike meyers as the old guy asks nancy travis' character "so...do you link your own sausage?" hahaha!

  • I miss Ned's Atomic Dustbin. They've been toying with the notion of getting back together for so long , I wish they'd just get together already. Dinosaur Jr. did it. The Police did it. Van Halen did it. All great rock bands should reunite.

  • they are getting back together! For one night - live this SATURDAY in London!

  • That's too bad it's just for one night. We need better "alternative" rock in the music scene today since so much of the current stuff sucks so bad.

  • I was there. 21 songs for the 21 years since the band films. Saturday night was not played, but I don't it ever got release as a single in the UK.

  • I love it !! as a fan of the bay city rollers i didn't think anyone else would do it justice but it great nearly as good as the original LOL

  • Shit-tastic!

  • SO BAD...... it's good!

  • I love this version! It's going in my favorites!

  • the re make is better more modern

  • Some bands and some songs can be covered and turned into whatever you call this style. Saturday Night by the Rollers isn't one of those songs. It was perfect the way it was.

  • They're an acquired taste :)

I can't speak for the UK, but this band became popular in North America due to alt. rock and indie radio in the early 90s. Though the guy's voice is different, he does actually sing at least, as opposed to shouting all the vocals which was quite distinctive at the time. The lyrics for their original songs are top notch too.

  • Also, this cover was recorded at the behest of Mike Myers just for the So I Married an Axe Murderer soundtrack.

  • @greycell great use of the word "behest".

  • @rickeypaullester The original is utter crap.

  • I love Neds (Glasto this year bought it upto 13 times I've seen em live) and I also love So I Married an Axe Murderer. And even though I own this song the two things still existed in different parts of my brain. This has just fucked my head in a good way. Okay, most of it's rubbish but it's worth watching for Stephen Wright miming to a Ned's song and Rat's scotch tape joke at 2:30 :)

  • Yes!

  • NAD is the greatest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish i could see them play again!!! greeting from s.korea

  • I love Neds and Axe Murderer (which Myers reckons is his worst film)

  • i remember when this came out, bought the soundtrackjust for this song

  • BTW, Kramer was in the movie!

    S-s-s-s-Saturday night!

  • it is mike! holy shit!

  • 'So I married an Axe murderer' What a Freakin Awesome Video.. Ned's is way kool. It's a 'Scottish' thing ...ie Bay City Rollers = Scotland The Brave . thX 4 post.

  • "Look at the size of that boy's head..."

  • Hah! Best line in the movie, you are "spot on"

  • Hey, is that Mike Myers in this video?

  • Yeah ... and inexplicably Michael Richards. Mike Myers requested the band record this song for his movie. I have no idea what Kramer is doing in here though.

  • All those comedians are in there cause they're Mike's buddies. RIP Phil Hartmann

  • Michael Richards and Phil Hartman were both in the movie, "So I Married an Axe Murderer," which this song is from.
