You have to buy a Lifetime Subscription card for $99, depending on where you get it from. I recommend eBay; I've seen them on Buy It Now for around $50. You can activate it on the Navigon website, or on the GPS itself.
what a rip off!!!...the unit looks complicated and it's navigational graphic looks like other gps from other youtubers that's actually using it....the commercial make it appeared that the whole unit rendered photo realistic navigation but it is not ...where is the photo realistic rendering???????
The realistic stuff is pretty overrated. I live in a small town and not used to highways with 5+ lanes, so I found it helpful. The reality view only comes on when you are close to an exit.... if found it helpful when you drive past or on an exit with more than a single lane... it will show a static simulation of the exit (three lanes for straight, 2 lanes for the exit, etc)... pretty overrated.
I don't feel that the interface is compliated with everyday use ... but with config ... yes it could be, because you have so many options... just my opinion ... fwiw I am a technical person ... mainstream opinions are probably different
Manual focus doesn't work well on my camera in video mode. If anyone is thinking of getting a device and has questions on the interface ..... go to a retailer and get hands on.... There's over 100 options on this simple device. Staples had a working device at my local store. Plus in the store you're able to compare it to other brand's interfaces, repsonse time, functions, etc without trusting some text review.
Great choice! That one adds Bluetooth and the 16:9 4.3 inch screen to the 5100's features. Did you know that it and the 5100 have a Lane Assist function that tells you the best lane to keep?
Say u lose it does the GPS have an actual tracker in it

I'm not sure how to display it on the map, but you should be able to see it in the GPS Status window.

check out my navigon 2100 video go to the description and on that site you do a search it tell you how to modifie it so that it display a clock.
