@jet4212006 Magic? It's probably just the way how Japanese advertising is (like a fight setting from DBZ for the new Metal Sonic character). I know that concept never would've been made in a U.S. commercial since the western audience was different.

if ya'll didn't know...the Japanese version of Sonic CD most definitely surpassed the cheesy american version...I own both and the soundtrack for the usa is just terrible !! x_x God knows why they decide to redo the audio for the game

I totally disagree. The US soundtrack is miles better than the Japanese version. More atmospheric, and still feels modern compared to the Jap soundtrack.

because it's a matter of opinion, just like some people like anime jap voices better than American sometimes even though they are high pitched and stupid in some cases

graphics back in the early-mid 90's were better than what alot of people realised, they were just WAY expensive, consumer examples of this are things like the neo geo AES, 3D0, and to an extent the atari jaguar. the prices of the consoles though put them into a specialist type market and the affordable solutions at the time were things like the mega drive, SNES etc.... rendered graphics on massive computers will and always have been ahead of their consumer product counterparts.

How is it a ripoff if the Sega CD is the same thing? The only difference is the external casing and the name. Besides, I own both a Sega CD and a Mega CD II. The Sega & Mega CD wasn't famous anyways and was ahead of it's time, though I still love it. The Mega Drive/Genesis was and had more sales. The reason why there was a name change was because in North America a company already owned the rights to the name "Mega Drive." 99% of US collectors knows what the Mega CD is. It's not forgotten.

@arnoldthebartender Don't you know that the Japaneses and the Europe name of Sega CD Is Mega CD? They are the same thing, it's just the name is different and BIOS is different.

Yup, I know that the only difference is really the bios, the name, and the physical appearance. Stupid trademark dispute. Mega CD sounds better than plain ol' Sega CD but I also like the name Genesis.

@arnoldthebartender yeah I think mega CD sounds better than sega CD and i like mega-drive better but that just might be cuz I have a mega-drive and not a genesis + that I am from Europe (Sweden) ;)
