I feel like watching two beautiful swans floating on the lake and enjoying their own romantic atmosphere. It's not sad at all, it's loving instead. Awesome, I wish I could dance and enjoy the music like them...
Warning for everybody ... for critics and heaters ... 3x Blackpool Champion ... UK champion ... GrandSlam Champion ... World Professional Champion .. European Professional Champion ... Italian Champion ... in my opinion ..Luca and Loraine are one of the best Ballroom dancers ho ever step on the floor ... this was the revolution in dnacing ..not Hilton , Schiavo or anybody .. THIS IS or WAS the revolution ... thank you very mutch ... Peter
So if someone wins the world championships they become immune to criticism and their "superiority" should be just accepted. Because of people like you Slavik and Karina never went past Bryan and Carmen, because "Bryan is the world champion". Pfft. There are many times Slavik and Karina danced better than Bryan, but still lost because "IT'S BRYAN AND CARMEN!". Sometimes the entire judging panel feels more like a bunch of squealing fan girls.
no thats not what i meant at all. "why criticise?" is more to the point! there re so many things that they did that put them at the top of their field, which were superior to their competitors. it seems stupid to be trying to point out small flaws in their dancing, just watch and appreciate- they are retired for heavens sake!
on another note, i agree with you on the slavik and karina note... they were actually my personal favourites, and i believe that they should have beaten bryan and carmen on a number of occasions, as should paul and hanna!
PS- No need to be so rude!- ("its because of people like YOU...")
Read what you wrote again. Yeah, it doesn't really come out that way. You could've said "just enjoy the dancing". But still, as a dancer, I cannot just enjoy dancing if I see flaws in them. But back to Lucca and Lorraine, can someone point at which point she doesn't close her feet, 'cos I couldn't find a place where she was supposed to but didn't.
Not closing feet is not a flow. When I hear comments like " I like then neatly closing there feet" I know person is just learning the dance or belong to old school. Dance change, or going back to roots. There no reason to neatly close feets in walts. Closing now happend for a micro moment as feet passing, and only for person on outside of the turn. This create most stable position. Well, there are too many old stile judges, but it is finally debated.
If you want to see dancers having fun then watch quickstep! All in all they feel the music and transform it into movement. And maybe you agree when I say that waltz isnt such a funny dance like quickstep. It's rather sad or melancholic. So they won't smile while dancing waltz.
In my view the waltz is a graceful dance, and grace does not imply a lack of feeling or emotional involvement. A waltz is certainly not sad (unless badly performed), nor melancholic (at least not a true waltz - after all, it is the essence of a Ball, which is a festive occasion)! What I am saying is that the dancers do not convey the spirit of a waltz, which is, essentially, celebration!

Regarding closing the feet...
there is more liberated way during the performance.
Precision counts during the competition.

She's leading with her instep and toe rather than heels. And I agree, they, espesially he, need to close their feet.

Honestly, your reply "don't judge they are champions" comes off as blunt and rather ignorant. That's why my reply was so "harsh".
