Also, I'd like to say, I also think that the Outbreak games should get remade. While they were flawed in terms of control and certain gameplay factors, I think they're underrated and in need of an update.

Damn, I love this opening. It's one of the best game openings I've ever seen. Capcom should make a game that chronicles and gives insight into the fall of the RPD and their last stand. Surely, there are surviving officers that you could play as (assuming if we can't play as those who are scripted to die as well) and witness firsthand the accounts from what happened during the city's downfall in an attempt to fight back the monsters. That I think would make a great game. "COME AND GET IT!"

You could be a uniformed officer, detective, SWAT, maybe a Fed or Secret Service if necessary. Take on petty crooks, go undercover in the criminal underworld, expose corrupt officials, have some thrilling chases. The possibilities are endless. You play Police Quest, Lethal Enforcers, Total Vice or Urban Chaos: Riot Response?

After playing MW2, it really did make me wonder if the police would engage the enemy, since our police force carries guns and because I see all these abandoned police cars, but no police. And of course, we have SWAT, which has access to military grade weapons. In MW3, the only intact police cars you'll see are in England - all the ones in NYC are destroyed. But I really do think a cop-based Call of Duty would rule.
While there was an obvious graphical improvement between 2 and 3, where the new technology really shines is the CGI cutscenes. RE2's cutscenes were in the infant stages of computer generation, and you can tell by the animations more than anything. But this, with the way the people move, the way the bullets make the flesh bounce, the way it plays out, everything just blowns me away. Probably my favorite cutscene of any game ever made (Good game too, although I prefer the second).

Would have been better to have experienced all of this as one of those officers, not like in Outbreak with set-pieces, such as being in a bar and a load of zombies turning up. But in a whole city, before 99% of the people were dead or zombies. Far better than being the one woman army that is Jill Valentine effortless ploughing through dozens of zombies. The police station gets overrun, yet she walks around without a care. Missed a trick I think, Outbreak totally blew it.

This scene really gives the impression that things are going to Hell in a hurry. Even the valiant efforts of the RPD's best can't stop the zombie menace. Although they didn't know that headshots were the only way to stop the zombies, it is still inspiring to see them fight regardless of the viewer knowing the outcome. The superb orchestrated music just clinches the whole scene for me as one of the most memorable video game intros I have ever watched.

Think about it as if you were an RPD officer and this would be a real situation. They think they are humans infected with something, but humans after all. The humanity of the cops didn't let them shoot them in the head, just in the limbs and avoid to kill them in case there was a cure.... They have the head shot as a last resourse....
Haha, no, I would definitely have intent to kill. Capcom purposely has them aim terribly to give the audience the appearance that even the special forces aren't enough to stop the onslaught. You don't yell, "DIE!!!!" if you only intend on incapacitating them.

Resident Evil 2 and 3 both takes place during the timeframe of the Raccon City Viral Outbreak incident. RE2 mainly focuses on Claire and Leon (two main characters) trying to escape the city,while RE3 focuses on Jill Valentine (another main character) trying to escape as well.
well the cut scene is dramatic and really establishes the setting for RE3 very well. That's the whole point despite the fact that the police would mop the floor with 'em, considering how easy they go down in game and what not.
Well distephano the bodies are gone when you come back because the game doesn't have enough memory to keep them all there... simple as that. And to correct something; the militia with the RPD are U.B.C.S.(Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service) not USS (Umbrella Security Service) aka Umbrella Special Forces. USS are highly efficient and trained, while U.B.C.S. are a bunch of mercs that Umbrella hired as test dummies for the outbreak in Raccoon.
This is like the best cutscene from resident evil

Think about it as if you were an RPD officer and this would be a real situation. They think they are humans infected with something, but humans after all. The humanity of the cops didn't let them shoot them in the head, just in the limbs and avoid to kill them in case there was a cure.... They have the head shot as a last resourse....

Haha, no, I would definitely have intent to kill. Capcom purposely has them aim terribly to give the audience the appearance that even the special forces aren't enough to stop the onslaught. You don't yell, "DIE!!!!" if you only intend on incapacitating them.

Funny how MP5s and FN Tactical don't work...but my silly handgun M113 can do the job!! And who the fuck tries to hold thousands of zombies with just a few men in open street...?? Does anyone remember Apocalypse.. The movie? i feel like that scene where they are all pinned down and holding off all the zombies, was derived from this.. only thing is the UNSC fought side by side with RPD. Odd but what else were they gonna do?

you know what really sucks,in the umbrella chronicals game(a light gun remake of 0,1,3, and a new chapter, in case you dont pay attention) capcom decided not to remake 2 or code:veronica, they just left it out, they got lazy like they did when they ported the PS RE:2, 3, and code veronica to gamecube, are those just going to become forgotten chapters in the series like resident evil dead aim?

Resident Evil 2 and 3 both takes place during the timeframe of the Raccon City Viral Outbreak incident. RE2 mainly focuses on Claire and Leon (two main characters) trying to escape the city,while RE3 focuses on Jill Valentine (another main character) trying to escape as well.

well the cut scene is dramatic and really establishes the setting for RE3 very well. That's the whole point despite the fact that the police would mop the floor with 'em, considering how easy they go down in game and what not.

Well distephano the bodies are gone when you come back because the game doesn't have enough memory to keep them all there... simple as that. And to correct something; the militia with the RPD are U.B.C.S.(Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service) not USS (Umbrella Security Service) aka Umbrella Special Forces. USS are highly efficient and trained, while U.B.C.S. are a bunch of mercs that Umbrella hired as test dummies for the outbreak in Raccoon.
