Thank you for this video -- it reminds me of home (British Columbia.) Growing up there, I'd sometimes encounter a black bear while hiking with my parents.
By the way, the authorities in BC are considering introducing Karelian dogs to scare away bears: there are too many close encounters between bears and people (esp. in towns!) When that happens, they have to kill the bear (in 2009, 13 bruins trapped and killed because of this.)
