Does anyone know why my pc does not use all the RAM i installed?

I have installed 8gb RAM but in the computer properties it says that only 2.92 is usable. I am on a win 7 ultimate 32 bit.

Is there any way I can use all the RAM?

@miikkii123 32 bit OS (Windows) are usually programmed to recognize only about 2+ to 3+ GB of system ram. Unfortunatly you may need to upgrade to a 64 bit OS as a 64 bit OS can recognize a lot more ram. If you want to stay with your 32 bit system using all of your ram I say talk to a computer professional or google it.

I never in my life ever overclocked my graphics card, and it's actually new :p I use a GTX 550 Ti superclocked and my graphics clock is at: 981 Mhz, and my memory clock is at 2257 How much do you think i can increase them? I dont want to ruin my graphics card, so what would you recommend me to do? And btw i play skyrim, and i want maxium performance out of the game :-)

@CrazyKillerStickman How well does your PC run in other games? Maybe it's bottlenecking ur somewhere? I should be geting about 60-80 fps and probably more according to benchmarks on Skyrim. but I can't get past the 60 barrier no matter what. You should check for new drivers, update your Skyrim game and also if you 're SLI'ing, turn that off, Skyrim isn't quite generous on fps with SLI and CF. Maybe it's because am playing at 1280x1024 but I will be getting a new LED screen with 1920x1080

@Nightmare1066 i tried everything i search for a fix few days now ^^ but in battlefield 3 i have 50+ sometimes 90 fps in dark areas (multiplayer) sometimes on action i got 20 fps only in multiplayer.

i bought 8gb of ram now but this is not hte problem of skyrim im sure.

whats your power supply ? and how many watt do you have with it ?

@CrazyKillerStickman Well am playing at 1280x1024 try lowering your resolution to that if you haven't tried already. My Power supply is Corsair GS600 it's really nice, my GPU is getting all the juice it needs!^_^ Try instaling neweest CPU, GPU and motherboard drivers!

I'm very new to GPU overclocking and temperature read outs. How many degrees would you say is hazardous to the GPU because mine is about 45-50 with stock settings.

@Temoki depends on the GPU. Most of them are rated to exceed 100 deg Celsius, even though you really shouldn't let it get that high. Keep your GPU at around 75 C max.

Whilst trying to open AMD overdrive to over-clock my GPU, I discovered that my PC didn't like it and decided to going into a loop of crashing and start-ups.

However thanks to your previous tips about system restore, i managed to restore my PC to exactly 3 minutes before hand and problem solved. :P

You say to pay close attention to the GPU temperature, but what exactly do you mean by that? I've gone from ~50 degrees to 56-57 by overclocking 5%, does that mean I should revert it back? Which temperature is too much?

@FrontmanKius Hi: It depends on many things. That's why I didn't go into detail. The acceptable operating temperature is different for everyone. What are your computer specs, and which GPU do you have? Let me know. But that kind of a temperature jump sounds a little high.

That sounds reasonable, right? I've also got a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40ghz which is ticking over into the 60s but that was the case even before over-clocking the GPU. And you're forgetting the tons of mods that will start hitting the modding community just days after it launches, which will require higher-end hardware beyond the recommended settings. Think about the whole Skyrim sensation dude, not just that little box sitting on your floor.

@TheJackGinger It does everything. That whole procedure removes sapsucking spyware, malware, and viruses that you don't even know exist on your PC. Imagine all the benefits you reap once you get rid of all that crap. More space, more speed, less spying, less hacking, longer life to all of your hardware, etc. etc. etc.
