i read this National Geography book when it came out. This picture of the Afghan Girl, was only my attraction part. Due to this book only I used to go to Library everyday. I had the same thinking as McCurry was thinking. How she would be looking like after so many years. Today i saw this documentary and it refreshed everything. Just love this film. Thank you Steve Mccurry.

Nordic women and dark-haired Italian women are particularly beautiful in my opinion. @yumi1851 Those are not some random light eyes.Those are some of the prettiest light eyes.You usually would find her eyes in countries like afganistan,pakistan,iran,and iraq.Her colored eyes are not like european colored eyes but more different and exotic.

There is something so disturbing about this whole process. Maybe the original photographer had good intentions, but to interrogate your way through a war torn country amongst some of the poorest of the poor and the most victimized of the victimized, to get an UPDATED PICTURE??? I pray there were some OPRAH sized donations of food, medicine, books and materials to build homes and schools, to justify what looks like the ultimate display of selfishness I've witnessed in a long time.
