  • So this is why u need a JK Rubicon. The transaxle is locked in a JK Rubicon so you won't have spin between front and rear. On a JK, every wheel is locked so u have the same rotation on every wheel with no differential or transaxle slip. Just sayin' you old school jeepsters might be cool, but you can't do what a JK can.

  • buy a snowblower and clean your driveway first You lazy person

  • That is pretty much how its done. I'm much more aggressive, but the tactic is the same. About the only thing you didn't do was work the steering wheel, but I'm guessing you were just playing around anyway.

  • Rubicon supposed to have factory lockers...

  • just freindly advice.. if you even just think a big snow is coming...day or night,,, turn the jeep around...... front facing were you want to go... 50 % of the battle won...

  • Every one who knows tjs realizes it's sahara with rubicon sticker. Far as I know rubicon never came with tan color hardtop.

  • @superhawkn my rubicon came with a tan hardtop..... lol not tryin to be an asshole..just sayin

  • honestly you dont "FLOOR IT" in the snow anyways just digs you in i think you did just fine!!

  • Dude, put it in 4 wheel low

  • Dude, wheres your lockers?

  • Or possibly just in 4hi and unable to lock the diffs

  • All u people saying 2wd..can u not see the front tire is spinning at times!!!! Don't think its a Rubicon tho....Sahara edition most likely due to the color matched flairs

  • 2wd?

  • Where I come from we have one word for this problem. CHAINS! Diff locks are great to, but there is a lot of ice here and with diff locks on you seem to skid to the side more.

  • It would alot easier in four wheel rt front is not turning I thought all rubicons had tru trac check to see if your lockers work

  • Don't forget...He's past the diffs here. locker or not, its gonna be tough. not to mention the Wrangler Shovel underneath. When the diffs, AND the shovel are dragging, good luck getting much traction. I been there. Not very fun.

  • when all else fails hang Iron

  • nice vid used to live near estes, no one plows the roads ever!!

  • Its 2 wheel drive........ What do you expect!

  • obviously not rubicon stupid any one that knows jeeps. Brown interior top never happened

  • You did alright for not having an LSD or locker. Plus, nice antenna arrangement. 73, de NV6R

  • Rear wheel spinning but front not! If it was a rubicon and you had the front and rear diffs locked both front and rear would be spinning at the same speed, if it were to gwt stuck at all in this situation.

  • well if you don't put it in 4x4, ya your gonna get stuck. obviously doesn't know what that little lever by his right foot is

  • MTRs are the suck in the snow.

  • may want to invest in a snowblower

  • I used to push snow out of the way better than that with my 86 toyota pickup with stock car tires. where i lived we had 4' snow drifts that cars would follow me through so that they could get out of their roads.

  • i wanna see a new srt8 cherokee go through the rubican

  • either way if the snow is up to your frame your not getting out. not matter how high you are. nice jeep.

  • @chuck2271 Ya you will, its called a shovel. ;)

  • awesome. yes its an Arrow 2m/440 Jpole ham radio antenna.

the jeep is 2001 TJ Sahara with NO lockers.

yes i put a rubicon sticker on it just to f*ck with people.

    it worked!

  • @hamradiofreq That's pretty dumb.

  • @hamradiofreq it has the rubicon wheels and u can clearly see it has lockers... i say looks like a duck smells like a duck.... must be a rubicon...

  • @MrSelmo85 It's a Sahara with Rubicon stickers and wheels, refer to the top comment by hamradiofreq. Also, there is many occasions where you can see only one wheel in the front is spinning rather than both, the rear would have a limited slip differential so it would spin both unless one got hung up.

Don't be so quick to flame bud.

  • Question If its a Rubicon does it come with front and rear lockers on the stock setup? I have an 05 Ruby and I have them. Someone told me the other day that they must have been added by the dealer cause his doesn't and he can't afford to get them on.....

  • the car not a plow

  • need a lift and lockers be perfect... nice jeep BTW...

  • 2M J-pole on the back? Cool!

  • all about tires

  • Hey nice TJ Sahara (Rubicon Wheels and Sticker). Still think its a alright video. Get some lift and some big tires then air down to 5 PSI and come to Oregon for some real pucker factor :) My buddies with beadlocks just leave out the valve stems for teh trip.

    JZDIDIT

  • @JZDIDIT Huh, try airing down with radials: you get cupping in the center that will actually make you lose traction!

  • Brother, a little front end work is all you need, try putting a plow on your front end and that should solve your problem!

  • Gets some balls and learn to drive a jeep. Iv been I'm a lot deeper snow and had no problem with mine.1998 tj Sahara.

  • he needs to turn the lockers on, opps

  • Use that skinny pedal my friend. You had plenty enough room to turn.

  • It took me less than 20seconds to determine that you did EVERYthing correctly. Good job all around. I'm an FJ Cruiser owner, and have driven quite a bit in the snow, and that was WET HEAVY snow, and Mr. Subaru has no clue as to what your dealing with. Small measured bites, then back up and re-stab. Nice work-making what you got work for you. Don't know why folks gotta be so weird about kind of vehicle someone drives.

  • Get yourself a decent set of tires and a mild lift kit and that video would have been 5min shorter

  • Your not stuck if your still moving! Wish we could get some snow like that here in Ohio!

  • @AUOffroad Not if your in Ashtabula county.

  • maybe you just don't know what you have and that's why you can't drive your saharbicon. ;D

  • wow, that thing kinda sucks. Check out my Subaru video. I would go through/over that bs of a pile of snow. Bring that "truck" to where i am and lets make a video :)

  • My jK unlimited Rubicon can bust through snow like that. Done it lots of times with no problems.

  • I fuckin want one! I would trade in my bimmer for one! Not being sarcastic at all, Jeeps are rugged.

  • i gotta buy me one of these !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would have been on my way in two seconds

  • I would have been on my way in two seconds

  • who buys a 2wd rubicon?

  • Put a lift on that thing and some bigger, meatier tires.

  • whos driving a 14 year old ?

  • It looked like a video on how to get stuck.. a little more throttle and the vid would be 5 and a half minutes shorter... ; )

  • watch out watch out its a cop driving... ha

  • Are those Wrangler Duratrac tires on there? Just got a set of 33's for my 97 Sahara and cant wait for snow drifts already.

  • Should have bought a Jeep instead of my GMC.

  • Although the video itself is not really all that exciting, given the music and all, i really enjoyed it!

Nice Sahara btw! Love the look of the moabs on a Sahara!

  • If it is a Sahara get lockers and plow bucket and your set. Sahara is if I am not mistaking the only Wrangler that can have a snow plow on it. Thank you for the snow day. nice Jeep.

  • Like the Jeep, music catchy, but driver weak...

  • At least put lockers in it before you put the rubiclone sticker on there. So then at least it means something.

  • thanks for watching my flick!

    hahaha

  • @hamradiofreq nice snow ramming. I see you are a ham me to.

  • I reckon my 1990 Nissan pathfinder might have had a better time of it... but that's because it sits about another six or seven inches higher and weighs another oooh... two thousand pounds... plus I run BFG A/T's on it...

Yeah, height and weight are the king in snow. Gotta be able ot make it to the solid stuff underneath, no doubt.

  • MORE SPEED!

  • air down next time...

  • @ERICKF100 No.. Thats not what you want to do.

  • @DwnNvr No? why not.

  • @ERICKF100 The only places you want wide tires are in extremely deep mud, sand, or snow. A wide tires will sit on top of about anything. Sitting on top of snow doesn't really give you much traction. If you have a skinny tire it'll dig through the snow and hit the ground under it for solid traction! Now if it's 2 and a half or more feet deep then you can beach yourself.. Same said above goes for mud. Wide tires were originally made for people who go on sand because there isn't anything under ther

  • @DwnNvr aww alright makes sense. thanks for explaining.

  • Nice driving and your music sucks ass

  • why are there Rubicon stickers on a Sahara?

  • yeah if it was a Rubicon all the tires would have been turning and no that's enough snow to give someone a tough time.. that's frame deep with skinny tires and he's not lifted enough to get underneath the snow to the hard stuff

  • Nice Jeep but too bad you don't know how to drive it!!

  • tisk tisk tisk :( biger tyres and give it a bit more GAS

  • @subwofa more gas for sure

  • even a 2010 wrangler sport shouldnt have a problem with this, it has brake diffs. bad driver, or bald tires. My patriot could handle that...

  • stomping on the gas works pretty good in thiese kind of things and u u did do this after 10 seconds my bad i got bored

  • a sticker doesnt make it a rubicon..

  • @Qbynordi I AGREE I DONT THINK THIS IS A RUBICON. IF IT WAS WHY WOULD HE KEEP STRUGGLING WHEN HE COULD LOCK IT AND BE ON HIS WAY.

  • turn on your lockers.

  • try the Jetson trailcutter XT series of agressive snow tires .They work pretty well on my Tacoma.

  • you just need a locker an get that undercarraige up higher and youd be in good shape jeeps arent impressive stock because of it bein so light weight, i have a TJ lifted 5in, 33's, detroit locker and it performs great

  • @statetrooper824 thanks trooper. its not a rubicon. its an 01 sahara.

at the end of the driveway there is a rock wall so you have to go left or right. thats why i did not just "floor it" . and for those that say i dont know how to drive, i went thruough the colorado state patrol acadamey at camp george west in denver. they said if you pass their course you can drive better than 98 % of all people. so kiss my grits! (not directed to statetrooper824)

  • @hamradiofreq haha i hear ya, an that talk about trooper training course your right bout that, you cant go wrong with a Jeep btw!

  • @hamradiofreq

Did the Colorado state patrol make that number up? I'm pretty sure Colorado is known for it's excessive long and straight highways, which these state patrol officers.. well... patrol.

  • @hamradiofreq Just because a cop tells you that you can drive better than 98% of people doesn't make him right. I have never seen a good cop driver or one that i couldn't give a driving lesson to

  • @hamradiofreq It says Rubican clearly on the side, did you just slap some stickers on a Sahara or something?

  • @hamradiofreq then why does it say rubicon on the hood ? jw

  • @hamradiofreq and for those that say i dont know how to drive, i went thruough the colorado state patrol acadamey at camp george west in denver

LOL you cant drive i'de be out of that crap 1st try with that truck he should have had a run at it and lit up the tires " give it gas in lamens terms hahah to free up the treads and chew through that powdre . NOOBs I taught my self to drive and did not need cletus from the cop shop" look both ways b4 ya cross the street hahahah

  • @SuperNobama1 law enforcement driving is alot different you should know if you got the training. I have never had a cop continue to follow when I got to a "dirty" back road. I may have just jinxed myself.

  • @statetrooper824 it's been my experience when you jack one up, and put bigger tires on a jeep they lose a LOT of traction in the snow, especially on super steep terrain. I've witnessed several jeeps that can't keep up with the stock jeeps on such trails, even with lockers and more aggressive tires, and different drivers. Someone always seems to think they can drive it up, but throwing the center of gravity off changes the entire vehicle...

  • @tyewalkerfm1 With his setup a locker and more aggressive tires would make the difference. As long as you have enough ground clearance, then there is no reason for a lift. I have 3" of lift on my Jeep XJ and it really doesn't affect the center of gravity. With a factory LSD and Michelin 235/75R15s, I would have made it through there like nothing. My '84 Ford F-150 with a 4" lift and 31X10.5 would have also done it with ease. I live at 7100' ASL and get WAY more snow than this!

  • I really thought a Rubicon would do better than that. Was the front locker engaged? I guess there's no use putting a snow plow on the front of that Jeep and trying to plow the driveway. It would just sit and spin. You need a snowblower.

  • Love Estes Park. My wife spent a lot of time going up there when she lived with her grandparents as a teenager.

  • If it was really a Rubicon, it would have front and rear locking diffs and it would walk right thru that snow. It's obvious that either the person forgot to lock the diffs or its not a true Rubicon and therefore does not have a front locker.

  • @davi200 Its not a rubicon. They did away with hardtop vent and put them in the rear door when the rubicon came out.

  • USE A SHOVEL GOD DAMM IT ........ just put some snow on the side of the road that you will drive ... its not that hard idiot

  • shame how some people have nice toys and dont know its capabilities. I saw Land Rovers, discos and Recoverys not being able to manage 6" of snow!.. its not the vehicle.. its definitely the driver.

    D

  • yeah .. i also have a Rubicon 4 doors .. and i say that driver doesn't know how to drive in the snow .. mahn put that full pedal to the floor ... you playing in your driveway or what !! lol

  • when a put it on 4x4 the snow on the video was not enough to be stock

  • its why 4.0L was better

  • it is 4.0L

  • Yea was just gonna say, Rubicon/Sahara is standard I6... although, it looks like you or whomever was driving wasn't steering back and forth.... which helps a lot. Tires bite into fresh snow constantly, allows you to keep your momentum. Driving in snow 101.

  • @zxfvxbdfcvfbgcgfdxvs hey...a wrangler is a wrangler man.

  • Your nuts if you think a rav can make that going slow. I could fly an f16 through there do it slow beachoes.

  • i said i had a rav lol sold it to get my wife a escape. i drive a cherokee on 31's... but i have had my rav up to the hood is fresh powder and still be able to go... why would you fly a plain on the ground? thought flying is in the air? just kidding

  • cool jeep thats sahara with rubicon badging thats obvious to a real jeeper. Fender flares lol?

  • 4wd idiot

  • i had a rav 4 that blasted through snow better, my cherokee would eat that in 2 wheel drive give the dam thing some gas!!!

  • deflate tires to 1,5bar, or use chains, or put some salt or something for a bit more speed to go through the snow.

and if it's a rubicon, why aren't you using the difflocks? the time you used to do those ten meters, you could have shoveled the snow away ....

  • you don't deflate your tire for snow. the wider the tire are the more it will just sit on top of the snow. You need it to cut through the snow. Deflating is for the rock climbing

  • depends how much snow you have, if ya can hit bottow your ok, if it's deep you need to float on top.. run 10 psi or less, makes a huge difference!!

  • if its floating on top you can't get any traction

  • it it 8 feet deep you can't go through and hit bottow.... check out a vid by snowbatman or pirate jeep... type in cherokee's go snow wheeling, these guy's know what there doing

  • Not a rubicon...it's a Rubiclone Sahara. and you're trying to drive in snow with MTRs. not enough siping to do the trick. No lockers, MTRs, fail.

  • I ran Rubicon rims and MTR's on my Bronco II for two years, they do great in the snow IMO. No lockers either,,,

  • I ran MTRs on my TJ, 31" on a 15" wheel, and they sucked balls. My AT's in the same size, no other changes to the Jeep, drive circles around anyone on Rubi MTRs. MTRs are just not snow tires. While they can do the trick in powdery snow like you probably saw, this really heavy wet stuff just makes them look stupid.

  • one more thing your having trouble like this throw 100 lbs of sand in the back rip right out

  • so many problems with this vid on so many levels the number one being this guy cant drive in snow for shit i mean maybee if h was trying to go slow i took my buddys 03 rubicon stock and ripped it through a 6 foot wide 4 feet high snow plow drift no problem strated to slip and gave it some gas and like magic out than took it into a parking lot with 1 and a half feet of snow and tore it apart in 2 wheel drive

  • Looks like operator error to me. . . . .

  • good jeep... bad driver.....

  • yup!

  • ughh, how bout givin it some gas? my honda would make it thru that..if i went fast enough

  • you need some bigger tires and locking differental

  • This is why 4X4 is < AWD. 4X4 is only better for roc crawling and water fording.

To see what I mean search "Subaru Tribeca snow" on You Tube and watch the video by PASHAGLOCK from 40 seconds on

  • i just got rid of my 99 v6 Chevy camaro and bought a 2001 jeep wrangler 4x4 4 cylinder and came with both hard and soft top with half-doors and the half-door plastic window with sliders... the smartest and cheapest investment i made the jeep cost me $4,600 and the camaro cost my mom before it got handed down to me $21,000 i am a die-hard jeep fan for the rest of my life.

  • Air down your tires to about 15 psi, slow steady pedal, and you'll walk right over the snow.

  • i love jeep, but i only trust those kinds in snow because the wheel base is so close making it easier to get threw, although who ever was driving could have done a better job driving!... but there from the states.... what are ya gonna do!...

  • ok, this is my jeep.

    it is a 2001 sahara.

    no lockers.

    enjoy and keep posting comments.

    hahaha

  • If it is a Sahara, why do you have Rubicon decal?Im not picking, just asking?

  • probably becuase the guy is a poser and got the decal

  • @booth650 Sahara was the top of the line in 2001 before the rubicon came out. Be proud Sahara. LOL

  • @hamradiofreq

dude you have a rubicon, of course its locked....

  • @hamradiofreq even if it has no lockers, does it still do good off road?

  • @tozir14 To give you an idea, right now my rig is on 31" tires, 5spd (2000 TJ with the I6 4.0L btw) and no lift and it performs great offroad. Lot of off camber situations etc. A stock Jeep will go just about anywhere, driver pending. Despite that, this winter I'm bumping up to 2 1/2" of lift, 35" tires, armoring it etc. in fact, already have most of the parts, just waiting for a free weekend to put them on. Aussie in the front, OX in the rear. Locked and loaded :D

  • he did lock it toward the end i think

  • He Needs to lock that $h!t up... rubicon my ass just because u put stickers on it does not mean its a rubicon lol it means its an se lol jk but realy man u need to lock up at least the rear. but i have to say u never did give up lol gj

  • don't be afraid to use the skinny pedal!

  • dont think its a true rubicon maybe just the rims and a sticker

  • wimp.....

  • Fucking hit it .....Sissy ass!!! OHhh the snow is so deap and your pussy hurts to much.....

  • for gods sake no one take this as a statement to the ability of the jeep rubicon.....the driving was a -12 out of 10 absolutely horrible

  • put her in Low Range man! cool video though

  • lol man! it is a rubicon, if he had locked both front and rear, in 2nd speed on low, a LOT more gaz, getting out of there would be so much easier!

  • prolly the tires, all that snow packing in there makes the tire like one big slick, giving you no traction.

  • dude are you locked front and rear or not?

  • fawkin mash the skinny pedal

  • Canada plus front wheel drive open diff has really taught me a lot about driving in snow. I don't really know how you can get that thing stuck.

  • That was painful to watch ! Please tell me you just moved to a climate with snow and you havent driven in the white stuff until now ?

  • Stomp on it dude its a rubicon i know the beating they take i got one...i live up north snow is a bitch and high centers you but with lockers thats a sinch!

    nice jeep

  • learn how to drive

  • Theres your problem, its auto :)

  • Its a rubicon, why not engage the lockers?

  • Comment removed

  • Buy bigger tires and put a lift on the sonofabitch! Whats wrong with you folks anywho?

  • 4 high and let it eat. and if its a stick start in 2nd gear. next time

  • white fenders???

  • Hmmm.

  • C'mon...giv'er heck man!! Nice Jeep though :)

  • so fake

  • Floor it next time. with tires like those no doubt your getting on on at least the 2nd time. Even my car with bald tires could get out of there floored.

  • dont lie

  • well obvously with bald tires no. but with some decent tread floored with some running room could have plowed throw that.
