I don't think any Nationalist party has ever been in power in Ireland so that could explain their troubles. The IRA has been quasi-Marxist since the 1960's, so they were always in favour of multiracialism too.
If Scotland became independant, they could impose their own terms for citizenship, and also create unfavourable conditions for the Pakis who are already there.

I don't understand why people accept that they just got life time in prison. That means that the society pays for them to live and pays for their food. WTF!

I'm in America and I cannot believe this story did not get international coverage. I only found out about this case by accident a few days ago. The fact that he was so young, in a developed nation and murdered with the methods of torture that they inflicted on him should've put a spotlight on this case. I hope the parents are healing & speaking out- even if their own country won't listen I'm sure there are others that will.
