One thing to realize with Reiki... It is NOT a replacement for Western Medicine nor should it be treated as such. Reiki should be used in conjunction with standard medicine. Also, Reiki can be used along with other measures for disease prevention. To use a Cliche, don't throw the baby out with the bath water. That goes for both Reiki and Standard medicine. That being said, if you have never experienced Reiki, do so. It is a wonderful experience and may help alleviate some of the skepticism.

My therapist is a reiki master and she does a lot of energy work with me. They also say you don't have to take off your clothes. That may be true but in my case I took off my clothes and that is when the energy work took affect. Reiki is much more effective when done in the nude with some people. I find it hard to believe you can do reiki and talk at the same time. When someone is doing reiki they are supposed to be channeling energy from the source, through their energetic body and into the patient. When I do this to myself during meditation it takes a lot of concentration, focus and visualisation.

My cousin is a Reiki Master. She was able to make her father walk again. The big drug companies and a lot of medical doctors(Not All) don't want people to know about things like this. Especially in the U.S. It's all about the money these days. Europe is so far ahead of us in medicine.
