It was incredible to see how much they had changed the Superfriends that I had grown up with, both visually and in the depth of the storylines. The Fear and The Death of Superman were the two episodes I remembered most from that season. Sadly, though, this was the point were Aquaman's career went down the tubes.
@TheKaijuSciFiGuy Popular misconception. What people (and writers) sometimes forget is that Aquaman spends a lot of time in the depths of the oceans and thus the pressure has given him superhuman strength, highened durability and hightended reflexes. In many ways being on land would be like us being on the moon. :)
Superman here is pretty much MORE powerful than in today's DCAU...being the Silver-Age incarnation, not even Darkseid's fabled Omega Beam can hurt him when he's upset ( 1:33 and 2:07 )!
@Starscreamsfan he might now be officially stronger than even earth one superman, taking darkseid's beam without even skipping a beat. Also it sounded a bit like the terminator theme at the exact moment for some extra "oh shit" for the villains.
This show opened so many doors, it's mindblowing. I mean, Superman ended up dying, Batman became a huge seperate franchise, Teen Titans earned their own following... it's crazy! It really is. I remember watching these shows as a kid and to look at them now as a general history buff, I'm really shocked at how advanced they were for their time.

the designs are pretty good looking
like aquaman certainly looks good and I'm glad to see hawkman there. They all look better. Heck I'd buy the poster of them posing at the end
