@LukeiAmYourFather12 Thank you bud, that means alot. Just keep practicing, don't get discouraged and have fun playing. We've all been where you are. I'm still learning new stuff each time I pick up the guitar.
@guitarmike26 yeah man you play with feeling and you made it your own song just by muting some strings! and the solo you don'tplay the solo you feel the solo.
@MrACDC1997 Thank you, that means alot to me! My main goal is to always just have fun playing the guitar and the great thing about improvisation is that you can really get lost in it which is when it really gets fun.
@troiannus Thank you very much. The effects here are pretty simple really. I'm running through some overdrive into an amp thats set pretty clean. I get the crunch from the pedal. There's some reverb in there and on the solo I used a wah pedal. Thats it.
what scales did you use for the solo? minor pentatonic? and when you move up and down the neck, are you changing keys or something? or what's the purpose of it?
haha, wanna ask more about improvising solos in the style of Eric Clapton.
Yeah, its mainly focused around the the scales in the open position and then at the 12th fret. But I also focus on the E note on the 9th fret on the G string.
I'd say the best tip I can give would be to learn all the basic open chords: A, B, C, D, E, F and G. If you know these chords pretty well then its fairly easy to make them into minor chords and other variations of these chords. Also, if you know these then you can play thousands of songs. I'm self taught so I started by learning the songs that I liked so just find the songs that you like the most and it wouldn't surprise me if the majority of them use those basic chords in some form.

bluesymartin 2 years ago
Yeah, minor pentatonic, in E. Moving up and down the fretboard, I'm just playing around the E root notes to add some variety into the solo.
guitarmike26 2 years ago
so you use the different minor pentatonic scale positions?
bluesymartin 2 years ago
Yeah, its mainly focused around the the scales in the open position and then at the 12th fret. But I also focus on the E note on the 9th fret on the G string.

Great playing, dude. Really impressive use of the wah too, it's a pretty tricky effect to utilise well in solos so much kudos.
