  • Just Don't cut past the first knuckle. Not only will you avoid those nasty knicks but you will find you have even MORE control when taking smaller sections to cut. GREAT JOB!!

  • GREAT video tutorial. I have watched a few and they are hard to understand. You made it SO easy that I am excited to be able to cut my 3 boys' hair with confidence! It has taken a little practice (they are all under age 5) over the course of a few days but I foresee we have seen the last of the hair salon. THANKS, AGAIN!!

  • Hi, you're very welcome! I'm so glad you found my video helpful. You will be amazed at how much money you will save over time.

  • I watched this and was skeptical. I've cut my son's hair before and while it was better than the chop jobs at salons, I still needed guidance. I followed your instructions and am so beside myself with the results! He looks incredible for my first try after watching your video. I will always apply these methods going forward and saving lots of money for botch jobs and corrections. Thank you so much!

  • Congrats!!!!!! I'm so glad my video helped :o)

  • I've cut my oldest son's hair many times and was never quite happy with it. Today using your instructions I cut my 13 year old's hair and my 18 month old's hair. They both look so handsome. Thanks so much!

  • Where is part 2? This is a great video but I don't know how to do the buzzer. Thanks.

  • Hi, part 2 is available. Please go to my channel and you will be able to find it in my uploads.

  • i send a million hugs and thankfulness to you. my 3.5 yr old & 1.5 yr old usually scream & cry profusely when i take them for a haircut @ the hair salon. it's mortifying. i dread haircuts every month. God bless you for sharing this wonderfully easy technique. i just did the little one's hair and it worked out wonderfully. i cut a little too much from behind the ear b/c he was still fussy. but nothing compared to the salon meltdowns they have. thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • You are so very welcome! I'm so glad my video helped. I remember those days so well. My son was the same way. I used to have to sit him on my lap or he wouldn't even let the hairdresser near him. It was always a very stressful experience. Congrats to you for taking matters into your own hands. I did the same :o) Sending hugs right back to you............

  • What the bowl cut doesn't work anymore? lol

  • You're just one of those awesome moms that are good at everything huh?

lol thank you for this video, very helpful because my boyfriend keeps buggin me about getting his hair cut and I've never cut hair before!

  • Hi, I'm so glad you liked my video. Definitely give it a try; I think you will do a great job. So many of my viewers had never cut hair before, and after watching my video really surprised themselves and did an awesome cut on their first try. So if your boyfriend has faith in you, you should too :o)

  • I have been researching so I will be able to cut my busy son's hair. I find that your video gives the best explanations/demonstration. It has given me the confidence to try it. Thank you for your excellent explanations.

  • good video, helpful advice thanks, but seems waste of time as it all grows back lol

  • I like this lady. She is awesome.

  • Is this your son? He looks just like you!

  • Could you do a layer cut on a woman? I like you hair cutting techniques and would like to layer my friends shoulder length hair.

  • great video :)

just want to know whats sort of razor did you used and the're so many scissors out there ....im confused which one to get? they come in diff sizes? 5', 5.5' and so on....which one should i get im in australia btw so we dont have cvs here :( do you recomend anybrand?

    thanks so much

  • Hi, the professionals use very expensive hair shears and I'm sure they do have sizes, etc. For at-home purposes I would think that any pair around $20-30 would be fine. If you go much under that, you may not get a good enough pair.

  • i gave my lil boy a haircut # 3 all around and he looks sooo cute!!! i didnt wanna use the scissors because he moves alot and i didnt wanna cut him..it was my first time so i didnt want to risk it haha im so proud of myself and saved $15 dollars :-) thankss

  • Thanks for your tips. you are inspirational to others that want to give it a go.

the way you explain it is easy to understand and I love the homely feel of your presentation.

    You have a nice family

  • I've done the cutting in the early Spring through late November outside. I joked about using the leaf blower for cleanup. Until I used it. Cleaned the patio nice. BTW, you have great hair. I have trimmed long hair like yours. I am very meticulous, I would be be pleased with your end result of your lovely locks. Not a Pro? You are more honest than 99% of the high school drop out choppers in the salon that cannot put together a complete sentence without spelling or grammatical errors.

  • Thanks for this very useful video. Today's the first time I've cut my 11-year old son's hair. His dad usually trims his hair and more often than not, they end up arguing with the results. My son seem satisfied with how I did his hair using your step-by- step instructions on the videos. There were no "violent reactions". When I asked him if he liked it, he just said "Cha Ching!"

  • I have been cutting my own hair for 30 years, as well as cutting all my grandsons and the hair of many friends.

It is uncanny how her techniques emulate my methodology.

I much prefer to scissor and razor cut, opposed to using electric shears.

These videos are always a wonderful forum to improve on what we have learned and established over the years.

Your instructional videos are greatly appreciated!

  • YOUR Hair is cool

  • Thanks for this video. I used this technique on my 2 year old son with great success. Much easier for me to cut his hair at home in front of the TV than have him screaming and distrissed at the hairdresers.

  • i wouldnt want a haircut outside in the winter, not where i live ha

  • Hi, I guess it's pretty cold where you are. You can always cut hair in the bathroom. I do that sometimes too when I just can't find a warm enough day. Here's a tip: Put a chair in the bathtub and sit the person in the tub. Then when you're done you just scoop out the hair with paper towel. It's much easier that getting it all over your floor :o)

  • you know today i cut my own hair and i asked my friend if my hair looks done by a professional he said yeah why, i said because i cut it my self! lol i gave my self a fade :)

  • Excellent! Congrats :o)

  • Awesome! I use to give myself fades. I prefer the barber though. They target a spot and work it till its smooth, where as I may cut corners. A good barber/barberette focuses on the hair not the feelings. I am glad you liked the outcome.

  • i agrre with you ! thanks for the reply

  • i cut my nephew hair following your instructions and it is very nice.could you tell me about an ebook on hair cutting which i can download to my pc? thanks

  • should the length of center hair and of sides be same?

  • Hi, you are cutting off the same amount in inches from both top and sides, but when you cut the sides it will blend the top into the sides.

  • thank you so much. looking forward to more videos on hair cutting.
