  • Awesome Tester, i put it on a 24k bullion sunshine minting and it read 999 it's sooo accurate! i used it on a 14k gold and then put it back on the bullion and it said 23k. also i don't think the gold bullion should change color unless its mixed with another metal. usually gold bullion are 9999 anyways. Englehard Mints sold me 20-22k bullion with a 9999 stamped, i'm so disappointed, but that one slightly changed color. Sunshine Mintings didn't change at all. I love them! thanks for the video too!

  • this vid is funny.... PFFFFFFFFFFF! lol

  • What do you do about the spotting that show up from getting your spittle all over the coins?

  • @twostaff You don't spit on coins.

    That's what you do.

    Gloves, capsules.

  • great info

  • I have the GT-3000 and I found it to be quite frustrating. Then again I'm new to this, but I kept testing a few gold pieces and each and every time it gave me mixed readings. However, a few items were quite consistent. I want to master my technique before I head out to buy gold. I want to make sure that Im not over or under paying customers. Another thing I noticed was my scale, It kept giving me mixed readings as well. I paid $20.00 for it. Do you recommend a particular brand/model scale?

  • sweet ring test, never knew that man

  • Regarding the GXL-24 PRO. I have found it to be accurate in determining the fineness of yellow gold. However, when testing on white metals, it gives me some inaccurate results. Have you found this to be the case as well?

  • Mustangjake2073,

Your gold tester is great for testing gold. However, testing silver would you not recommend performing a specific gravity test? If not, why?

  • The archimedes method for testing gold silver and lead is too time consuming and messy. But it is the most accurate and still used by assayers.

  • once you get several thousand pieces,...you have a hellava display to retail!!!!!

  • bracelets, rings, charms, pendants, turquois, necklaces, and so on,......they will sell easily at a much higher retail,..I love it,...my ads say I buy 24 hours a day

  • Doesn't it beat buying 10-15% over spot and waiting 2 weeks for delivery?

  • I am buying silver jewelery at spot price and it is about to get very profitable,....great stuff

  • Exactly. Us silver bugs can out price any pawn shop or jewelry store.

  • but after hours,....I pay less for the service and people accept it,.....I meet them at a open 24 hour spot,........with cameras

  • Jake, did u set up a retail outlet for your stuff?

  • Almost. It will be ready by mid next week.

  • Finally a smart tester. Thanks.

  • Great vid.

For the 1983 pennies I flick them. Copper pennies will sing Zinc pennies will thud

  • 1983 US cents are 98% zinc, in 1982 the mint changed from copper to zinc cents but both types were minted, 1981 cents (and earlier) are 98% copper

  • Nice buddy, i love your vids, so real

  • Great video, I was wondering how you tested your metals. - Thanks.

  • good info

  • Cool...

I never heard about the 'blow' test. Going to try that one!

  • shiny!

  • A huge difference between your new cam and my flip cam.
