I taped this whole gig on vhs, the guitar sounds so crisp, still after all these years later. The vocal by Geoff is so powerful & just sounds like the record.
I Will Remember is such a great song, but did anyone else see Geoff Tate in the documentary “Programming the Nation.” He was so insightful in it. I just love how this guy seems to be active in society rather than sitting on his money. bit. ly/pVmk9U
I love this band and this is one of their best. Sad that many people have only heard Silent Lucidity when Queensryche has soooo many better songs that weren't overplayed on the radio. Great video; thx!
THIS BANG IS AS A RAINBOW .....THEY'RE EACH A COLOR PERFET BLENDED TOGETHERCT ON THEIR OWN ..WHEN THEIR ALL TOGETHER ,THEY SHINESOBRIGHTLY ACROSS THIS WORLD AS A PERFECTLY AWESOME RAINBOW !!!!!!!!!
I remember me and my friends ran home to video tape this. We felt so vindicated that they could show off their songs acoustically in such an intimate setting. Remember, Unplugged was becoming real trendy where any asshat would just play their electric crap on an acoustic and get praise. QR really showed their talent here.
Like countless others, my discovery of Queensryche helped me to look at things in myself and those things around me from an entirely different perspective. I might even say their music helped to shape who I am today. I can't thank them enough for the many years of incredible music and for sharing their gift with us all!
Wow.. I remember... Opening act for Ratt... the Blotz, Geoff, Michael, Me, Vicky,Scott, Juan ... parkin lot.... go karts and then off to bowling lol... then back to the La Quinta in where Geoff told me that "Queensryche prolly wont amount to much , they prolly wouldnt make it " LOLOL>> yea right...
I bought this on vhs for my dad when I was in 8th grade. You can probably get it on Amazon. Should be available on DVD by now. shows alot of live and some vids and then the end it this and Della Brown unplugged. Good stuff!!!
Contacted them last year by email......they brought my 85 year old Father on stage to honor him for his service in WW II...one of the greatest times of my life!!!!!
Contacted them last year by email......they brought my 85 year old Father on stage to honor him for his service in WW II...one of the greatest times of my life!!!!!
I've seen this version live, me being a ex chef for them, geoff has never changed his words at all, nor the meanings of their lifes, i've been through alot with this band, mentally & physically in my life...
one of if not best voices out there Tate hits highs as well as he hits lows
I just wanna know when they(give blessing to a director) will do a Mindcrime movie?! no need for a script its already done via 2 albums, just some minor edits to get material with current times
When I saw this originally I thought it was great, and I always wondered why it wasn't released/pushed by MTV as other unplugged concerts. I bet it was actually the band that killed it, as I think they (or someone in the band) probably thought it wasn't perfect enough. Shame- as it's brilliant.
I have the whole uncut unedited concert and i do not believe the band killed it, because it was MORE then perfect 90 minutes of great music and wonderfull interacting between band and fans you can understand that that DVD is very precious to me and locked away in a safe like live in tokyo
I agree it was brilliant. The question is whether the band agreed. There were some issues- out of tune guitars and f'd up performances. Nothing that takes away for a fan, but the question remains- why was Nirvana shoved down our throats, and this concert buried like king tut's tomb. WHY? is all I ask.
brazenhubris, again i have the uncut unedited version of the sessions and really there was nothing wrong with it , only tate being annoyed with the make up lady constantly bugging him between songs, also in the dvd Building Empires the band stated that they REALLY liked the sessions, was it all a lie? I think MTV killed it and indeed shoved nirvana our way, sad really and i do not have an answer for that
Oh,and how bout what would be the best reunion tour ever,Degarmo get ur head out of ur ass and suck it up,you owe it to the loyal fans,to join for 1 tour, just make shure you hit NY.

Theres alot of studio bands that try to play live that suck ,im not a hater so i wont mention, but kudos to bands like the RYCHE,#1,Maiden,Tool,for being truely real rock bands,
gotta love it when it sounds better live than it did when it was recorded. these guys are so fucking brilliant. most under rated metal band i know of. geoff makes that song look as easy as falling asleep in algebra class, too bad he cant hit those notes these days
It's always great to see the vocals live, especially when they are just as good as the recorded version. I'm glad that GT doesn't smoke (to my knowledge). It's always a shame when talented vocalists damage their voices from smoking or drugs. Both Freddie Mercury and Steve Walsh had better voices earlier in their careers.
Damn..what A performance. Just played this song 15 times with the Record version and then came to perform this one. Everything is in tune and in tempo...perfect!!!!
