Holy shitzu. Apple is cuh-reepy. Even more so than I already thought. I'm pretty sure you could sell these disciples a new product called iPancreatic Cancer and they'd buy it up in their frenzied quest for more Apple-related status symbols.
@eberabio Whats wrong about that term? If I use a Mac, I'm a Mac user. My point is that I do not want to get associated with those fanboy retarded imbiciles. I happen to think Apple make great products and that's why I use them, but I can't stand their corporate image.
@emilkje I understand what you are saying, yet, calling yourself a "Mac user" then would be quite a twisted characterization of yourself, wouldn't it ^^
@emilkje you have to realise that in using that term what you're doing is well classifying yourself by what a company produces, not only that but it's a description, how do you describe yourself? oh i'm a mac user.I personally have never associated myself with windows in any such way, you don't hear people calling themselves "windows users" yet people who use a mac do? what is it that makes you have to describe yourself as a "insert product" user? is it that big of who you are?
@ctndu2 Oh please let it go. I said it was a bad choice of words. English is not my native language, and I picked the wrong words, alright. Knock it off already! As I said I hate their corporate image and do not want to associate my self with them, its just that I happen to like their OS as it fills my needs quite well.
It's not that complicated to explain. Humans like to feel "belonging". Apple gives them that, albeit with a very hefty unjustified price tag on top of it...
By belonging to a minority group of computer users, they feel like they belong to something "unique" and "exotic" and "exclusive." It fulfills a psychological need for them. This is the same thing religion does, which is why you see so many comparisons between Apple and cults.
I wonder if these people get as excited about the latest hard-won breakthroughs in science, or this year's Nobel Prize laureates. What a bunch of materialistic muppets. What a sad, vapid society the west has created.
Do the first people in the store get free stuff?I find no other reason to explain why one has to wait 24 hours just to get it a freaking shop. And whats the deal with all those creepy apple employees?Just one word:Pathetic.
LOL @ macfags who dont know that their mac is a PC too. paying overpriced components that are exactly the same in a window-base pc can you can buy for cheap.
First of all, I need to say I am specialized in field of marketing, so from that perspective I applaud Apple because they are doing their job perfectly. But from more subjective perspective, I hate the way they use their zombified users: for example, they make one version of a product without key features (for example, Ipad 1) competition has. Then they milk out the money from customers, and few months later, announce new version.
Also, I hate the "religisation" of the brand and overhyping the products. As I said, from marketers perspective, this is brilliant, but from my perspective, it is horrifying. The video above is a trully shocking stuff for me.
I do not see the same effect from Google (Android os and phones) for example, yet, more people use it. What would I recommend in its absence? Why would I need something to recommend? Everyone knows you can buy better for less money from todays Apples competi
..competition. Also, when judging their products, I hate that they are build to "guide you through everyday like Apple has intended". Their is little to none customization and individuality, compared to others. You can see that huge percentage of Apple users are really becoming a cult of its sort. I actually read a story about a couple that was happy until the woman found out that the man did not love Apple, and she dumped him. I mean, come on..I have more, but need to go to bed:)
@socratesaka Apple products are alien to me,I've never got on with them. Apple fans are a plague in technology today,I miss the days when Microsoft and Sony ruled the technology world, simply put the BEST days of technology.
@Frlja You should see my little brother, hes the one of those childs -13 years olds, who were born in this generation and choose apple instead of windows and nokia etc... He keeps bragging whole the time about his apple stuff, it FUCKING annoys me!!!
i've had the same phone since i was 12. it's a windows mobile c550 and i dont see the point in getting a new one when this one works perfectly well, i didn't even have to pay for it cos my dad saved it from a recycling box. i cant understand how people can be so obsessed with every single little update / new gadget just because it exists and everyone else is buying it.
@123456tw - fuck knows who told them what about Nokia, school was like that when I was at it - there'd be people in class who'd direct what brands everyone else was meant to like, and they'd bad-mouth other brands and slagg off anyone that used them or had them.
Overpriced bullshit. I can buy 2 laptops of the same specs for one of their shitty aluminium wafers. Yes the aluminum is nice, but it creates its' own problems, and it is NOT worth the extra price.
Also, they use the same internal components as any "PC". And they are themselves "PCs".
You people that are over joyed at one of these store openings are no better than the evangelicals that elected Bush. I feel dirty admitting that most of you are Liberal.
@BillOralRushRimjob Wow. If you had a bit of knowledge in computers, you would know that aluminium dissipates heath much better than your average laptop plastic and that it is much more durable.
@BillOralRushRimjob I've used both Mac and PC daily for many years, and I still prefer to use Mac overall. Windows 7 is really quite good, but OS X Lion is likely to start changing the way we use our operating systems.
In my experience the overall build quality of Apple (and certainly not in all cases, just in general) is of a much higher standard. I have found that their products tend to last longer (again, not in all cases, just in general).
apple does have a certain feel to its products..but i dont think its better than windows...and most laptops stay in goodshape couple of years before we need to change them..so i dont really see why macs are highly chargd? is there something i m missing?
@socratesaka - Macs rarely fail. They've always been that way. They used to be more distinct from PCs as they used RISC processors, and the Windows machines were using CISCs back then, now the chips are a bit more blended, but I don't think any x86s are pure RISCs (not the desktop, laptop, server classes I mean, but they release so many I might have missed a few).
@BillOralRushRimjob Well, you are really right by the price of 1 MacBook Alum you can buy 2 laptops more or less but on the other hand it won't last that long. I have an old laptop with which I am using Linux and still running well but Mac or other proprietary system are the same... take money from us
@BillOralRushRimjob Not a cult, just a group of people who love what they do. The reason they keep information kind of secretive, is because they don't want false rumors going around ruining the debut or opening . It happens because of the people who demand apple products and obsess about it. Yes they may might sell overpriced stuff when you can buy a cheaper one that's just the same, but they just try to progress as they go and no one is stopping you from buying the other computer. Just saying.
@BillOralRushRimjob it's the OS I like, having used Windows before I find OSX much more stable and user friendly. I don't support the overpriced hardware though, but first rule of business is charge what you can get away with!
