Thats stimulates the economy only 1/4 of 1% of spending.

Why not reduce the population of stupid people by encouraging them to not breed? If my neighbor was bad with money and his family needed essentials, how is writing him a cheque monthly solving the problem? I am simply saying it is jot so cut and dry to say people shouldn't be taken care of, but who should be responsible to take care of them. And asking that question, does not mean you do not have a heart, rather you have ideas of who should or should not be responsible.

You won't take care of your family so I have to do it? I live in Canada and we have socialized medicine and the system is as good as any in the world. But we pay up to half our income to do it. Half, and still pay sales tax on top of that, luxury taxes on liquor and gas in fact after we pay half our income, it is estimated approximated more than half the remaining income is taxed again. Please understand the difference is enhanced social programs.

@gtechie Canada`s wait times, and availability of high tech procedures lags far behind the US. Any price controlled system gives shortages, resulting in reduced availability, and the wait times. Supply- demand model indicates this, and its the fact. I have a simple question. Why do at look for the public to care for disadvantaged people when we cam send their families the bill for caring for them? There was time when people took care of each other and it seems we no longer care for each other. I am less interested in picking up the bill to care for your infirm brother than my own. The public has to care because you no longer do.

I believe the mother should be sole teacher care giver and father the bread maker gatherer. To instill something that takes that away from the family is not a good thing. I do believe women, if they wish can work and do whatevr they want but, not if kids are left to the FED education system these days..

I know kids/parents from all 3 types of schooling that are brilliant, critical thinkers and get their asses out of their seats to be invested in their lives.
