Bang on a Can are really awesome. They always do a good job of WU. Another great recording and performance of this is done by Australian group Ensemble Offspring. They also do a great Tiekreis (Stockhausen) and all of those indeterminate pieces really, really well. It's artistic director, Damien Ricketson, studied with Andreissen at the Hague.
I'm playing viola in this piece in a couple of weeks in an orchestra consisting of a trumpet, a saxophone, a bunch of percussion, and a saxhorn (no, I kid you not). Let me tell you guys, Worker's Union is astoundingly difficult due to the concentration involved. I only wish the sound quality was a little better. But you guys did a great job with it.
I saw this performed at the BOC marathon in 2003. It was so intense that Wendy Sutter was ripping off loose bow strings during the rests, and probably the most amazing performance I've ever seen!
Saw this piece performed last night, but on flute, clarinet, synth, violin and wood blocks. This performance sounds a lot more frantic - last night's was more pedestrian which made it weirdly hypnotic. Both pretty interesting takes...

nice classic piece quite old, from Seventies, they play from same score, it is only rhythm given;
herma57 3 years ago
@herma57 It actually does give more than just rhythm. It also gives pitches, though they are not fixed pitches.
