Oh my goodness! I used to listen to this song when I was a very little girl. My mother would play her 78's for me. I loved this song! Thank you for posting this. I also love all of your wonderful pets.
This record, released as London 1448, reached #4 over a 19-week run starting May 1, 1954. Heni Rene's version reached #8 the same year; Tommy Leonetti's #29. Weir was a soprano saxophonist and bandleader. This was his only hit.
Kitties. <333333 I am a mama (slave) to four myself, Gleep absolutely loves this song, he wanders in to the room whenever he hears it being played through the loudspeakers.
I thought of this song the other night and got the record out and played it here at my home. Good Post! It reminds me of one of the earlier Laurel & Hardy shorts. Frank Weir was even mentioned in Norm N. Nite's book, ROCK ON,VOLUME I.

It should be one of the best; it reached the top of the charts when it was released over fifty years, ago.

@parsonsrules I remember when this came out back then. It was very popular and
sounded great over the old tube-type car radios, (especially if you had the "rear
seat speaker" option and opened up the trunk, causing a "reverb" effect).
Good old days! We still had a Country, (instead of a "Homeland"), that was free,
(instead of a Police State).
