JRC defender a better option for a budget bivvy imo. very reliable and stable with far less to go wrong. fished Orchid lakes in Oxford during the bad floods and it didn't let me down! I was put off buying the TFG as have read reports of breakage to the fantastic erectile mechanism and it looks tacky alternatively I would recommend a nash double top professional if you can spend a bit more, I know Phil Smith and he swears by the Trakker Armadillo but it is a big investment hope this helps
You bunch of numptys, how can you say putting down the f8 tfg bivvy is hard, you are retarded if you cant put that away on your own and in under 3 minutes. I have the primal verson of thisand its set up and ready in about 1 minute whilst all the numptys with there NOT so flash armo's are there 10 minutes later still scratching there nuts, nobs.
Agreed m8 Good post. The basics tend to be the best. Ive just brought a OG Gortex bivi bag, (2 infact!) A crusader (expensive), x2 58 water bottles (solid!), Heximan, mora knife, stone, messtins, and a swedish fire steel aswell as a DPM PLCE belt kit webbing (6 pouches) to put it all into for when on the move (and a IRR daysack), as we camp out in the forsets of Wales! Those bivi bags are amazing. No need for a tent at all! Just put everything into it&cover ya head when it rains. New World Order
i nearly got one of these, i am glad i went with JRC, i would rather pay an extra 100 quid and know i will have one that will last for years, and not let me down when i need it, being a squaddie, and having spent many a night under a army basha, (i.e a peice of water proof sheet, no sides) my JRC is gonna be like a 5 star hotel!!! :O)
I have one of these Bivvy's It does take about a minute to put it up including pegging it down, but it does take a little while to bring it down. I put it in the bag, but bungie strap it rather than zipping it, much easier :)
Well i've got the Dave lane sti shelter with the over wrap,it's a shelter and bivvy in one, it's superb. The sti 1 man is similar you can get one for a good price on ebay
I've got one of these pieces of crap! worst bivvy in the world! I still use my JRC oval and freeze my nuts off, better than the grief the tfg force 8 causes!
This guy is just taking the piss, or more to it a fucking useless twat!!
