  • I like songs like this song.....speed and bustling :)

  • Not Irish but it's a good tune.

  • irleand - the most beautiful country I have been yet in my life!

  • love this....anyone got the tin whistle notes for this in ABC format please :)

  • Great stuff, I love this music.

  • i thought this song was supposed to be remorseful, sad, of a mourning nature

  • @Ringlord3434

I think if we can categorise something as 'folk' music, it's up for as many new interpretations as people want to make of it.

  • @Ringlord3434 I was really confused at first, too. This is the Traditional Irish Reel (like a jig), which i read also goes by the names An Ghaoth A Bhogann An Eorna and Little Pack of Tailors. However! the revolutionary ballad written by Robert Dwyer Joyce back in the 1800's about a rebel in the 1798 rebellion in Ireland is the slow heartrending song you're probably thinking about. The Ballad has been covered by lots of ppl including Dead Can Dance.

  • I am not Irish, I am Greek but I really love that kind of music. For some strange reason when I hear Irish reel music, images of ancient Greece come to my mind :)

  • @IRONFIST72 Me too. Am also Greek but feel have strong ties to ancient ireland - spooky eh? :)

  • Anyone else find the contradicting tones of the two songs bearing the name "The Wind That Shakes The Barley" kind of funny?

  • @LAHFaust yeah just a bit the song based on the tradit poem is very very sad...

  • I am Irish and I compliment you on your music, well done.
