  • wow!!! the koto sounds sooo good!!!! i love koto!!!

  • this song is cool

  • Sounds so beautiful.

  • 素晴らしい。赤ちゃんの鳴き声も可愛かったですww

  • I was wathcing kung fu hustle one time , and these men had the koto too. i have to say, you and your son play as good as how they play, but better. Can you upload a song with a little more wave edge? I'd be pleased if you did.Thank you!

  • that was not a koto -_-

it was some frankenstein amalgumation of the gu qin and guzheng. Its not a real instrument.

@Comsoya- both you and your son are immensely talented. I find it so incredibly heart warming that 2 generations can make such beautiful music together. Im glad to have you on the koto playing team ^_^

  • Thank you for the compliment, 21FingerGod.

I do not think my son has something like a talent. But I can say he makes a lot of practice.

He loves to play the Koto as much as soccer.

His teacher is his mother ( my wife ). If he made a careless, sloppy practice, then he cannot get any sweets. haha.

I saw your video. You plays the stringed instrument too. Is it a traditional instrument?

  • oh, i hated that video XD

Its called a Pipa- The chinese lute. I do intend to record new videos, but as of now, i am without a camera. I will be sure to update you when the videos are uploaded

  • I wish i had a koto. where can you get one?by the way, your music is awesome. who plays the piano... it must be there for some reason.

  • this song is called sakura?

  • Hello scarydead.

This song is "Tsuchi-ningyou (doll made of clay)".

    not "sakura".

    I'll upload "sakura" soon.

  • すごい〜 That was amazing! You both play so well. I wish I could learn as well as you and your son! I will look at more of your movies.

  • Welcome sumirelsrafel :)

    Please check the "radentai" channel.

Radentai is a professional Koto quartet.

His mother (and teacher) is a member of the quartet.

  • you son play very good

  • Thanks a lot, wingkilulu.

I'll tell my son your comment.

  • Very Beautiful and Powerful! You both play very well. I liked watching the mothers right hand ... striking swift as a snake yet graceful as a swan!

  • Oh, thanks again, dulcimoo!

His teacher (mother) is very strict in the lesson.

See also his mothers play in Youtube.

    search the keyword "radentai".

She loves your expression "striking swift as a snake yet graceful as a swan!"

  • (n_n) Excellent. :)

You must be really proud of him. :) Keep up the great playing. :D

  • Thank you for the comment, tjmixmasta!

He practices playing the Koto very hard these days. I uploaded two new movies "Rokudan no Shirabe". It means "6 chapter song". The music is very Japanese traditional style. Please enjyoy it. Thank you.

  • I'll be sure to check them out. :)

    Thanks. :)

  • Your son shows a lot of promise, he's very focused and strong. I look forward to hearing and seeing more from him. I love the koto!

  • Thank you for the comment nivsha.

    Are you professional musician?

    I watched your website.

I'm surprised to know there are many kinds of Koto in the world.

I also love the sound of Koto.

My wife plays the Koto since 5 years old.

I enjoy her play (and shout to his son in lesson) everyday :)

  • You are very welcome. I am a professional musician who performs improvised music on many different kinds of Asian long zither instruments, including koto, Chinese gu zheng and Vietnamese dan tranh. Next I would love to learn Korean kayagum and middle eastern kanun.

  • i think he is ready for a song called: まつり の たいこ。 its a very good song and its a solo. hes ready for it.

  • Thank you for your comment.

He is trying to memorize the score of "Rokudan no shirabe".

His next challenge is the ensemble with me (father).

    I play the shakuhachi.

  • Your welcome, I hope more Koto videos are to come.

  • This by far is my favorite, its is long, so i keep it hear, and listen to it, thanks!

  • Thank you for your comment ashinocy.
