@tsaerakounes The ac-130 is a flying gunship fixed wing aircraft. The mh 53 or "pavelow" is a helicopter. Very different, pavelow was mainly for transportation.

i was a gunner in the mh-53 pavelow we only did one mission and we tore apart those enemy guys. youd think it would be fun but no the feeling of some enemy could lock on to you and shoot you down was overwelming.

Unfortunately this video has very poor audio- the camera microphones were maxed out by the noise of the plane it was show from.

If you watch carefully, you can see the 105 mm (the big gun at the back of the plane) move as it tracks the targets. Because it was shot during the day, you can't tell that we are firing. I should know, I was a crewmember on the AC-130 being filmed.

if you would like to be an ac-130 gunner, do you still need to go through boot camp? because i am physically unfit in military standards (overwieght but able to do physical activity to a medium extent.. football player size) and i know id go into a fetal position the first day of boot camp. i am obsessed with ac-130s, like i want one for my birthday im so obsessed. please respond, thanks.

@Barricade17 yea umm...... you do have to go through boot camp but u can lose the weight thats what im trying to do, though i have 6 years until im even able to join. but make an effort and i promiss you u will make it!!!! :) have some motavation start walking for a lil every day stuff like that hope that helps, i want an ac130 for my birthday to. in march im going to fly in one :)
