Just because something may or may not cost the same as what western aircraft manufacturers charge doesn't instantly make it cheap and nasty, after all anyone can charge more for a product, this in itself doesn't make it better.

Also we don't actually need all the bells and whistles that western aircraft have to actually fly the thing, you'll probably find something akin to a mid 70's flight deck would be fine today with just INS and VOR NDB operations.

Funny how people claim that the tu-204 is a clone of the 757, 737 or even a320.

A plane is a plane. All are designed for length flights, all have wings, front windows and rudders.

There is no question that using design concepts of other manufacturers is cheaper because you eliminate the high costs of R&D. However, companies that choose to do this tend to be 10 years behind the market and appeal to different customers. BTW, the plane appears to be empty and perhaps this is a spectator take off.

@beeroosterm how is this a stolen design? aside from the Boeing 757 it shares no major resemblance with either Boeing nor Airbus similar range aircraft, and even with the 757 the resemblance is minimal. If you want to see a stolen design take a look at the resemblance between the Airbus A320-200 & the Comac C919...

The -25...is a piece of junk interceptor; very fast for a very short time and using stone age vacuum tube technology. Its tiny combat radius limits its effectiveness; they basically take off, launch a missile, and run like hell the other way. The F-15 by contrast is a well proven tactical fighter with 100 victories vs. no dogfight losses.

Wingspan - Tu-204 - 41.8m, B757 38.05m. From when Is 14m shorter thing a copy? And the other reason to argue with just you. @beeroosterm No matter what you think about F-15, the conception of two engines and their placing, twin tail and general conception was inspirated in Mig-25, which you can find in every reliable source. Kill ratio has nothing to do with that, even with such a score, which is generally only one unverified source (something like in Korea, where if American reclaims would be true, than they would have shot down about threetimes more enemy aircrafts than there really were in service :))

In fact, informations from former soviet archives tells completrely different story about Korean war. And, as the participation of soviet pilots was top secret, their information were never made for propagandistic purposes, so, it's very reliable source. Recently I have read book Hunter - autobiography of soviet ace of Korean war Sergey Kramarenko - interesting. Without bad will I recommend.

Well, west, on the other side, pacted with Hitler in 1938 and offered Czechoslovakia to Hitler in Munich. So Russians were very popular even during communist regime till 1968.
