@makemap Well why would they have joined with the soviets. A mutual non-agression pact was about as far as relations between the Germans and Soviets got, and that didn't work out. Without any signifigant allies, it's doubtful Germany could've taken over America.

The United States is similar to most sovereign nations in that it is simply a country that looks out for its own interests above anything else and would do so at the expense of other nations. To deny that other countries are as opportunistic and two-faced would be naive. The scary thing is that the US has the manpower, technology and finances to accomplish its ends. That's what makes them so much more dangerous.

It will have to be the other caountries of the world who will have to cut the US Military down to size, by cutting off US Government access to more debt and making it pay far more interest to rollover the debt it presently has. This will either bring about cutback in US government spending, or greatly reduce its purchasing power. If the latter, the American people will be pissed!
