Someone fill me in...what is the leopard doing, really, in this video? It appears to be playing with the baby gazelle, but that seems kind of...I dunno...silly? Anyone know?
@jesusisbetter it says that the leopard is trying to take the baby gazelle to its cubs while the mother gazelle can't do nothing but watch. then comes the lion who can't see the baby gazelle because of the grass but wonders what the leopard is doing. the leopard goes away and the baby gazelle isn 't hurt. happy ending :)
It's been a long time since I took French, but at the start of the video it talks about the leopard capturing the baby gazelle, then when it shows the adult gazelle in the background it says something about "the mother [something I didn't catch] powerful." (Powerful emotion? The leopard is powerful?) Then the lion shows up and wants to know what's going on.

Heres how the REAL story goes...
This NEWBORN fawn thought the leopard was it's mother, since the real mother was lunch. The fawn followed that leopard for a little over 2 days before dying of starvation, on the fact the leopard simply could not feed it.
I found it fascinating that the leopard showed real empathy for that fawn.
The shot of the lion was totally irrelevent to both the fawn and the leopard vid.
^ Thst is not the original vid, but it shows a leopard doing the same thing. I think the leopard is the only wild animal ever recorded to be using it's maternal instincts on a species other than its own. Even if there was really a loin, it would have eaten that fawn without even blinking. Lions eat their own cubs if they feel the need to.
@ScienceIsKnowledge i just want to see the original unedited footage. years ago in a documentary i saw an adult female leopard clearly debating if she should adopt an orphaned lion cub. i'd love to find that too.

1. "the real mother was lunch" so that gazelle in the back, it's just watching?
2. "dying of starvation" yeah, lol, the fawn that's RUNNING is totally dead.
3. "real empathy" empathy? the fawn's trying to run away and the leopard keeps stopping it. real empathetic.
