@snoberts The Bible condemns ALL sin; not just homosexuality. There's lying, stealing, cheating, murder, premarital sex.....etc. Forgiveness for such sins, is freely given when we ask for it. It isn't anyone's job to challenge anyone's beliefs OR sins.......that's God's. I firmly believe Him and all He stands for. Because I believe homosexuality is a sin; as I do all of the above, it's just that....my beliefs. One doesn't have to hate a person when they disagree with what they're doing.

I found her views offensive. The letter described homosexuals as 'sodomites', said homosexuality had 'contributed to the downfall of every empire' and added that 'gay sex was a major cause of sexually transmitted infections'.
The views of this bigot are what fuels homophobia and the violence associated. The police response was a little too much but this woman was promoting hatred of gays. She deserved a ticking off.

That still doesn't tell us what was actually said, and SHE didn't exactly mince her words in that letter to the council, ranting about perverted sodomites destroying civilisation. For all you or anyone else knows, she could have been questioning people about gay sex leading directly to the 'explicit' language she received back.
Something tells me that a character like this would secretly have been rather disappointed to get no reaction that she could complain about.

British newspapers printed some of the phrases she used in the letter. They included 'sodomites', 'perverted practices' and a batty spleen vent about how homosexuals have caused 'the downfall of every Empire'.
Of course I can accept that maybe an intolerant person did not have her own views tolerated. If so, it sounds like a dose of her own medicine to me.

Arguing back and forth over the internet anonymously doesn't solve anything. It just provides a means for people to express their views and beliefs. Christians speak out against sin not out of hate, but love for we know there is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun. All of us will one day appear before Jesus to give an account of his/her life on this earth. It is appointed unto man once to die and after that judgment. God doesn't hate homosexuals - he hates their sin, just as he hates all sin.
