This is, to me, the music you have to remain silent to and just let yourself be carried away.I don't think other artists emerging from the hectic 60's pop era has ever achieved this dimension.Scott Walker surely sees things in a too different way to deserve criticism or to care about the so-called music industry demands. His art goes beyond music.Luckily the internet is alowing more people meet this man and his genius.

i have always loved scott walker, from the pop days of the walker bros. to this more operatic, darker self. i agree with the comments he is totally underrated, anyone who takes music and blues more speciffically to a new level has to be respected and scared of
Folks, make no mistake, Scott Walker is on one of the greats! His kind is going away, and there were only a few of them to begin with. When I first heard this song, I was so haunted that I couldn't stop thinking about it for days. It tells the bleak story of a surreal and utterly breugel-esque farm forclosure...what a beautiful epic!!!
when first i heard this song knocked my head-off. sublime. beautiful. amazing. had no words to describe what this makes me feel. one of the best albums ever made

And when the cellophane precipice erupts
Stand fixed against its heaving orchestra
And listen.
This is the voice you will hear....

Beautiful. Sophisticated and haunting.
Not toe-tapping but emotionally moving.
Music as theatre.
