There is alot more to this little story "in depth" if anyone would be interested in hearing it. my personal feelings and what has happend and in the treatment i had received in reguards to this matter
this company pretended like i did not exist after one of there firearms blew up on me. i had licensed firearms manufactures gun smiths and many many many more analists oversee it and all there conclusions were the same it was seen to be Metallurgical failure it did severe facial damage had to have my nose stiched back togeather almost "severed off" and it fractured a bone in my face that still to this day presents an enormous amount of pain and iam nobody to them like it never even happend
I don't want to sound like I am picking on you because I am not.I would love to see you pick up a pistol and remove the magazine then check and clear the chamber before going into your spill. After snapping it a dozen times you removed a loaded magazine! That scares the crap out of me and sets a terrible example for any one who owns or is learning the correct way to safely handle a pistol.
@Thrashaero It's a little more complex than that. The new pistols made by sccy are CPX-1 gen 2 and CPX-2 gen 2. The frame has be redesigned and so has the slide. The 1 or 2 designates whether or not it has a manual safety. Check the website to see how the new models look.
@swiftcoyote Good vid. You should put the CPX-2 no safety info in the description to make sure people see it since the end of this video talks a lot about not liking the safety.
I contacted sccy about obtaining a new clip for my CPX-1, and they were more than helpfull; extending a degree of service unequaled in the present day service sector.
Great Job! Thanks for the review. I looked at one of these today at the store and was very impressed. For the money it looked like a bargin. They removed the safety from newer models. I'll prolly buy one soon and try it out. Thanks again
@oodamnagain I'm looking at the gun and the safety on the right side is in the same place and is the same size. It does stick out slightly less on the right slide, so it may be better for left-handed shooters
Thier warranty is great. I have never had a major issue but they have always taken care of things for me. I live 20 minutes from the factory so i drive over there and they take care of things while i wait. and yes lifetime transferrable
@Granderson15 From what I remember it's an unconditional warranty that's transferable to a different owner. I've never needed to use it, though. Also check out the CPX-2. It appears to be the same gun with a redeisgned frame.

i have to say, I own one of these, but the original skyy cpx-1. You are entirely right about the safety it does get in the way, and does tend to be hit while firing this pistol. However i believe that the digging into your hand has to do with you hand position. I also must say that it is much more accurate then you capable of firing it. I would recommend practicing with the trigger pull, and also your hand position. I am shooting it as well @ 30 yrds as you ar at 7 yrds. and can hates chp ammo

Am glad to hear your report back from the range. I am also impressed with your straight forwardness on your opinion and thoughts. Especially on the recommendation for CC. I have one, not fired yet. But all the reports that I have seen, I would not trust my life in a CC defense situation.
Saw your comment that the safety digs into your thumb when shooting. This is the only issue I have had with shooting it. I have used all kinds of loads in it and have never had a failure to fire or eject. The SCCY gets a bad rap in gun circles, but I have had no serious issues with mine. I did have to add some loctite to the forward and rear pin. They came loose after about 300 rounds, but the gunsmith at SCCY and a local smith assured me they would never come out.
If you can shoot a group as big as 5x7 index card or hell even 3x5 from 7 yards (the most common defense range) you will do fine in a defense situation.
@walyll0 their is no cpx-2 sccy only made one gun and thats the cpx-1. anyway does your gun have the word fire in white by ur thumb if so then the safety was taken off if you dont see anything where it should say fire but theirs a raised black edge, then that means they used sccy's safety removal kit hope this helps
@darrengerdude96it is a CPX2 and their is no safety on this gun at all and btw go to a gun store not sccy`s web site the web site isn`t up to date i`m in the middle of deer hunting so we haven`t shot it yet
why dont they just redesign the damn gun instead of havi u pay 20 bucks for a removal after u just spent 250 bucks on it?they need to look into that asap.
This a direct copy of the KelTec P11 as a mater of fact the guys that started Scyy worked for Keltec. The P11 dosent have the safety. Both are the same price, I went for the P11 after reading on the net about Reliabilty and Customer Service issues on the Scyy.
Same experience what I made with my cpx-1. The safety is an issue, but for $20 you get an removal kit, what I just bought. With that installed no problems. This gun is just made for self defense, and very affordable for that purpose.. This gun is typical carry a lot and shot a little.I have also the Beretta U-22 Neos with the 6" barrel, great gun and for $ 275 the same price like the sccy. And you can run hundreds of rounds through a day without spending a lot for ammo.
I just bought this gun yesterday. I had read pretty good reviews on the gun regarding quality vs. money bracket. This is my first gun purchase ever, and Im not disappointed at all. I did have a few problems with the safety as well, but other than that everything is totally smooth. The lifetime warantee is also a plus. I supose if I want to advance in my gun collecting I could always sell it and buy better or whatever, but for a beginner the quality for the price of this gun Im totally happy with
great video, i have one i bought in dec.09, its been flawless. i fire wwb ammo fmj and hollow points. the safety doesn't bother me as i have small hands and doesn't contact it. a friend of mine got one and had sccy send him the safety kit for free as he kept hitting it up. but i love mine and would reccomend it to anyone, if you have trouble sccy is great to work with.
Dude, you didn't waist any time getting this review done...Good Job! I have the same gun and I haven't had any problems with the safety engaging while shooting. But when a friend, who has bigger hands, shoot the gun, he did have that problem. The only problem I had with the safety is the lever broke off and the gun is back at the company being fixed now.
I hadn't shot the gun yet so I was anxious to use it. Have you been dealing with the company direct? I haven't heard anything good or bad about their customer service. That lifetime warranty is a good deal though.
Got my gun back yesterday and it seems to be good as new. But when I got it, my box was damaged. Don't know if it happened at the company or during shipping. I called SCCY today to see if I could purchase a new one and they said they would send a new box out tomorrow. NO CHARGE!

My XDM-45 has that staged type trigger like the H&K P2000, really like this as it (at least at the range) aids a bit in accuracy.
