Putting spam into kim chi jigae makes it bu de jigae which translates to base soup.

It was made when the korean war was in place and food was scarce so people made stews with any kind of meat they could find.

hey norby.. its a good video, because actually it shows everything you have to know about making kimchi jjigea..(though there are 1000s of styles) its a pretty simple dish. anyway.. how about this.. if you wish ur kimchi jjigae saltier, put some salt.. if u wish it spicier, put some pepper/chilli.. honestly, if you are unable to put salt and pepper for your own taste, you should stop cooking man.
