  • @RobMutronic they do write their own stuff... around the world, technologic - check out tron, they did the backing tracks (including the ochestral instruments)

nothing wrong with sampling, just another way of creating 'fresh' new takes on certain ideas.

  • I want one ^^

  • It's pronounced "Creh-send-olls".

  • "we even got phase going on"

  • LMAO UNCLE BRIAN

  • Very nice sampling skills buddy!

  • in Can You Imagine before the loop it says "Look Out" in a part of Crescendolls when its getting a "mixing" sound effect it says Look Out before the sample (not at the end)

  • Your vids are awesome. Enjoying them greatly. :D

  • I always thought it was pronounced "Creh-shen-dolls" as in Crescendo the musical term. COuld be wrong though. either way, its a good video.

  • @l337man4 it is! pronounced

    cre-shen-dolls

  • Nice Work.

  • I love your videos and I love how daft punk layered a 303? in Crecendolls :D

  • only a retarded drummer would correct you

  • Yeah it is a snare.

    Yours, A Second Drummer ;)

  • Dude this awesome stuff-remaking the songs like that. Instant fave, 5 *'s

Reminds me of what I do with making exposure sheets based off of old cartoons to figure out their timing.

  • eggsellent cho job btw ;D

  • I found that part 2 of the digital love was taken from Dreamer by Supertramp, some chop job been done there,,, Hope this has been a help

  • Soooo basically we've found out that daft punk have a love of great music, they're awesome dj's and they're great producers and mixers...now all you haters, go get your own samples rmix them and re produce and make a multi platinum selling cd

  • @eldictator1 it takes a key thing there bud....knowing someone, who knows someone, who knows someone, who knows god :)

  • @eldictator1 Truth!

  • It is a snare.

    Yours, A Drummer :-)

PS - fucking awesome chop job on the B section of Digital Love.

  • They are the absolute creators, you havnt heard homework then

  • @80and90music There suppose to sample songs, there DJs

  • crescendolls is pronounced cre-shen-dolls

  • @Brainbox97 yeah i think of the word "crescendo" which is a musical term for an increase in volume.

  • w daft punk punt e bast

  • "Japamation cartoon?" lol

    great video

  • !!!!!

    You're a genius ;)

  • you're a frikkin genius

  • YES! THank you man, you just became one of my favourite top ten friends : )))

  • awesome vid

  • Wow... I didn't think Digital Love was layered with an altered pitch sample... That part blew my mind.

  • wow that's just amazing does this mean that daft punk is just another act that's just make adjustment to songs so are they really talented at all

  • your a jealous little fag

  • I dunno... Seems to me like it takes some serious talent to make something epic out of a sample. Just look at One More Time. It's almost impossible to hear where the samples are in the original song.

  • French House was built on samples. They just did it the best.

  • no u have to have an ear for samples plus they change it around

hell house music itself is basically twerking songs to makes something new it doesnt make them talenless

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

    I love Daft Punk!!!

Digital Love is my favourite of Daft Punk

  • First of all, great job brian, also helpful to wake up new talents mind

DP does what the kind midas does, anything they touch become gold :P, djs thats what they do, they produce, mix, transorm, renovate or die! we need more creative minds like them to give us more awesome music pieces to enjoy

  • The Daft Punk are genius ^_^' <3

  • ur robotic voice would fit a daft punk song ;)

  • wow that was really cool. normally this would be boring to me but you kept it interesting

  • WE HAVE CRESCENDOOLLS HAHAHA

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for putting this together. I'm not a DJ, but it's definitely some food for thought.

  • thats great. i thought the beggining of the loop was the begining for crescent dolls. lol .

  • For crescendolls... I found almost the same song: Diana Ross - I Heard A Love Song (i think it was that one...)

  • Response coming soon brian :D

  • Why would you be offended? Are you a cartoon or something?

  • No, its just that is a term I do not enjoy the use of.

  • A lot of Japanese Animation fans are pretty sensitive about term usage.

Just one of those odd worldly things.

Also, I'm loving these Chop Job videos concerning Daft Punk, excellent work!

  • Well, I'm not --- I enjoy that term sometimes, even though I use "anime" more than "Japanimation", because the former is much more common (I've only seen a few websites use the latter).

  • What's the model of the Pioneer you're using?

  • CDJ-400

  • No,

    it's a tomb. Yes it's a snare :D

  • Hey I think you messed up the sample on cresendolls.i think they cut it earlier than how you cut it on the pioneer. just wanting to clairify i have tried mixing on audacity and it is really cool so please try it by cutting the sample earlier.

  • how this can be legal, daft punk paid some rights?

  • It is indeed legal, as long as you credit the original artiust and pay them to use the sample

  • Yes but if you didn't read the paper they said it was cool that Daft punk could use their samples

  • Right enough man, IT'S A SNARE! :p

  • its the cdj 400(cd-player) and the djm 400(Mixer) of pioneer :)

    very nice set up :D

  • sorry my english

  • what's the name of your mix table

  • awesomeee!

  • dude what's that gear

  • Shitty? How do you figure?

  • its a snare

  • Why did you have to low the key of DL?...

  • nice job.... i love digital love =)

  • what program do you use?

  • crescent dolls

  • AWESOME job on Digital Love

  • DP are awesome, they chop evrything live, but you briansreed is cool to, im now a subscriber, good work bro.

  • Awesome !

  • enjoyed the video man cool stuff and the 400's are theee bees knees lol love them!

  • I make hip hop beats and sample A LOT this was candy for me what program was that "mix meister?" lemme know it seems very useful i use

my soundcard software to sample and i sequence it with FL Studio in short, good stuff man

  • you sir are brilliant

  • this is cool stuff ! !

i want that discovered cd now !

what software do u use ?

  • as a religious observer of daft punk, this is amazing. thanks so much for sharing!

  • Im F*****G upset with the people to try do slam Hip Hop for sampling and not calling it music when i great band like Daft Punk loved world wide samples ALL THE TIME!!! ????

  • That's probably because DP's samples are not as obvious.

Hip Hop has all kinds of problems at the moment IMO. Everything has already been done & they seem to have nothing intiresting to say anymore.

What use to be urban poetry is now usually about bad behavior & disrespect. To add insult to injury, it's usually marketed to suburban teenage white kids.

  • the snare is not exactly... but its VERY cool

  • program name?

  • |||||||

    vvvvvvv

  • what is the name of the program?

  • Mixmeister Pro.

Has the best automatic beatmatcher going,

better than acid pro, and ableton live.

Ive never had to adjust a track manually myself with it.

  • "thank you"

  • you obviously havent used live properly then!!!

  • I obviously have, otheriwse i wouldnt of have said it.

For beatmatching full tracks, youre going to have to adjust the warp markers manually with ableton.

Especially if theres a bit of silence at the start of the track.

Where was with Mixmeister, i have NEVER had to set the markers manually.

That said, you obviously can do a 1000 times more things with ableton, but mixmeister beats in it when it comes to automatic warping.

  • Ableton is a high end program aimed at proffessional production, as well as live dj performance, with far more remix capabilities.

Mixmeister is great for mobile or Home DJ's and at a push club jocks, and like you say maybe easier to use for the begginer at remixing.

  • i'd love to see the rest of the chops. :D

  • what if YOU made the "Discovered-CD" ? xD ... then you are very smart ;)

  • It's "hey, ain't it funky y'all".

I love what you've done so far and hope there's more DIY Daft Punk coming soon!

  • They're saying "hey, yo!", but it does sounds 'hey, puppydog" the second time around. lol

  • You are a legend for doing all this. Really interesting, and you've done it all really well. But you do talk a bit too much!

  • What is the equipment?

  • The CD players are Pioneer CDJ-400s and the mixer is a Pioneer DJM-600.

  • awesome :)

  • tsugoi sample lol

  • maybe brian knows what the imperials are singing? lol

  • Sounds to me like they are saying "Hey PuppyDog"

  • get your boogie on!

  • I think its " Hey Get it Funky now".

  • i think its sayin "Imperials" but in Crescendolls it says "Crescendolls"

  • Always sounded to me like they're saying

    "HEY! HERE WE ARE!"

    Which sounds better to me.

  • Haha this was really cool and informative!

  • its a snare

  • its pronounced cre-shen-dolls from the musical term crescendo meaning raise in dynamics (volume) and its spelled crescendolls

  • Yeah Uncle Brian, I'm a drummer and it's a snare XP

  • WoW!!!! YOU MAKE THE COOLEST BREAKDOWNS EVER....EVEN THOUGH ITS FROM DAFT PUNK....AWSOME!!!!

  • Hah, can't help but laugh how you say Crescendolls, no offense or anything.

  • how do u say it? i thought its how u say it too

  • Well I mean, I guess you can say it that way seeing as the way he says it is like the moon phase, but the way I say it is like the musical term crescendo. Even though it doesn't have the S, I find it fits it better. But either way works. I'm just used to the way I say it.

  • Hah, scratch that, it is spelled Crescendolls. I went by how he spelled it at first, but yea, I'm pretty sure it's pronounced like crescendo, but however you like.

  • For the record, they are actually saying "Hey Puppydog"

  • I was trying to figure out what they say. Thanks.

  • Awesome again!

  • It's pronounced cres-CEN-dolls, taken from the word "crescendo" which is a common term in music referring to a gradual increase in loudness.

  • kreshendolls

  • EXELENT !!!

  • i never would even listen to electronica , until i heard the group daft punk they are truly genuises

  • The loop that you took (2:21-2:30) Daft Punk cut in 4 pieces and played 1st part,2nd part,1st,4rd,1st,2nd,1st,4rd,etc.
