Rhino Chase Scene - w/ Southern Sky Adventures

@mcd0705 - The calf was definitely the instigator and was originally spooked by the presence of another vehicle. We then took on the charge after the other vehicle eluded the pair. The speed of these animals was of great surprise. Yes, the mother did try to stop the calf as you mention.

great experience... that calf was definitely confused. the mother was following the calf and a couple times seemed like she tried to even stop it.

The mother and offspring were so close we could hear the sound of the baby breathing. Hard to believe the endurance and speed of these huge animals as we retraced the route and this chase stretched out over a mile. No way we could have outrun these rhinos on foot. In addition, this was my mother's first game drive ever and her first siting of a rhino. Needless to say she was not very interested in getting too close to the rhino again as the trip progressed.
