More than likely the problem was a very dirty gun. Everyone was using my 11.5" upper on my friends M16 lower that whole day. Alot of it has to do with the gas system used with 223. The 9mm AR15's are blow back operated only. That and I have shot alot of 223.
Wow thats a lot of jams. It almost seems like every other pull on the trigger causes a problem. How long were you out there? How many rounds had you spent? I wonder if AK's have that problem?
I attempted to bumpfire 223 later in the shoot. My gun was extremely dirty. One of the guys saw what I was doing and had me try it on his gun. I was able to dump 3 mags of 223 through his gun with no problems.
As far as suppressors/Silencers go. They are a title 2 device that requires a special licensing process to obtain one.

thanks for the post, I asked you about bumping 223 a few months back. looks like the higher recoil makes it tough.

Yikes, I was getting frustrated just watching all those malfunctions. Was it just because your rifle was getting dirty?

Your first attempt looked like it had annoying bad recoil. I guess you didn't know the correct way to hold it yet..?
Also, is a suppressor the same thing as a silencer? I've never asked this question to anyone before, so I don't know the real answer.
And how are you able to use those suppressors/silencers? I heard it was illegal to own one? Is there a special license you can get somewhere?
