  • i like all disney classics soo much the pixar movies arent that good

  • In the original fable, the little mermaid discovers that the prince falls in love with a beautiful human girl, and she becomes heartbroken realizing that love is actually a matter of luck...though this film captures the magic of that luck indeed! A great kid gift!

  • I think I started watching this when I was 2 and I wanted to swim ever since:) Ariel taught me how to believe that everyone's prince or princess is out there<3

  • Red hair, and obsessed with muggles.... must be a Weasley

  • @tippie42 9Gag? =P

  • anyone know where i can actually watch this?

  • SO EXCITED FOR IT TO BE OUT IN 3D!<3 SEPTEMBER 13TH 2013<3

  • @Spencerfamguy are you serious??? How do you know?:)

  • @TheLuluBrown Disney anounced it!

  • best movie ever.

  • The beginning part with her singing "AHHHH" when Ursula takes her voice is haunting

  • thumbs up if ariel always has been and always will be your fav disney princess <333

  • Grandbaby says Cute and Awsome..She is 34 months old !

  • this was the 1st disney movie I ever saw, and I still love it

  • oh god please don't tell me he's jerking to a cartoon!

  • this movie made me dream of meeting and falling in love with a mermaid....hehe i was 6 wen i saw it...

  • i dont know he looks kinda hairy and slobbery to me lol!!

  • I like to call it "immortal" movie. :3

  • wow

  • She was my favourite princess as a child :')

  • Disney had failed to keep and raise it's tradition. Not only so, it had eliminated those perfect movies of the past times, such as the story of little mermaids. Instead of keep those dreams raise up and above from kid's mind, now all they want was to be teenage wannabes. Such a shame.

  • 10 times better than the book!

  • This was my favorite when I was little. <3 The first movie I can remember ever loving so much. :') I have NEVER had singing lessons, and people like my singing. I feel like I owe it to how much I loved Ariel when I was 3. :') Because the first songs I ever remember singing were songs that she sung. X') Mom would be giving me a bath when I was four and five and I would just start doing it and playing with my Ariel Barbie doll in the tub. :')

  • i love the begin of the trailer of ariel's voice <3 they should make a 3D Version :)

  • @Believix89

If they do, ONLY Disney World should have it. Believe me, 3D shit in normal theaters sucks compared to going to the parks and seeing it ACTUALLY FLY OFF THE SCREEN.

  • @Believix89 they are for 2013 or somethin!

  • I wonder how the film would've been if they kept the idea of the little mermaid dying at the end.

  • im a black guy from da hood and let me tell use some fink

this is one off the BEST FILMS OFF ALL TIME

ariels part of my world <3

  • Ursula is the main antagonist of the film.

  • Easily the best disney movie out there. Why did i not watch it until i was 15?

  • Oh my goodnes... My childhood. I'm only 16, but it feels so long ago... ;w; I used to love this movie. I miss Disney so much.

  • <3333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333

    all i have to sayy

  • This is my favourite Disney film EVER!! I was born in 1987 so when it came out on video back in 1990 my parents got it for me and now I have the special edition DVD.

  • She sounds really little wen she says "not that 1, the other 1...."

  • The trailer does no justice to the movie.. I mean. It's epic.

  • I think every kid - or at least every little girl - has a Disney movie they consider "theirs". This is definitely mine. It was an obsession when I was little and I still love it now! *love* :)

  • @MessedUpMeHa Mine too, i almost wet my pants when i saw ariel in person in my first Dinseyland trip LOL

  • @MessedUpMeHa

when i was a little i favored the lion king ._. XP

  • Thumbs up if Sebastian is your favorite character!

  • Now Disney's defination of a 'Princess' is a shameless teen slut like Miley Cyrus who grinds her ass against some producer's groin for all to see & loads her 'music' videos with porno images.... the Disney channel shows nothing but trashy teen soap opera rubbish that has brainwashed little girls into thinking being a scummy 'celebrity' is the only thing in life worth aiming for! I'm glad I grew up in the last era of innocence this World will ever experience 'cause it's completely messed up now.

  • @robhere1982 Amen to that!

  • @robhere1982 wow well said.

  • @robhere1982 Hail the 80s and 90s Genteration! :D

  • What a brilliant start to a trailer. Love that voice!

  • trailers and times have changed a lot. nowadays they hide the songs instead of exhibiting them.

  • actually mr. voice over man its "under DA sea"

  • 1:15 oh yea eric is hott

  • @teddiesluvyou oh yeah, agreed! :D

  • I Know what would King Triton do if the crew of SeaLab (Capt. Murphy, Stormy, Marco, Debbie, Sparks) portrayed in the series SeaLab 2021 kidnapped Ariel:

Answer: King Triton would rescue Princess Ariel and blow up SeaLab.

  • Is it true that the mermaid died at the end (the original story)? :'(

  • @Sunzu49 yes look up listverse 10 gruesome original fairytales

  • @Sunzu49 yeah, i believe in the original the prince marries someone else and the mermaid is doomed to disappear into the ocean and dissolve as foam. but her sisters appeared and gave her a magical dagger with which she would be spared if she used it to kill the prince (another deal with the sea witch). but she refused and jumped into the ocean where she disappeared =/ kinda depressing

  • @Sunzu49 she dies cuz she prefers to sacrifice and let the prince be happy, but after she die she becomes like an angel (kind of) and if she saves or protects people she can obtain a soul and live forever

  • Well, not all of them, but most. Fantasia wasn't (but it was based on music, so same concept I guess.) Even The Lion King was a Japanese story. Stitch was really loosely based on the Ugly Duckling.

But Mark Elliot makes these trailers, doesn't he? Great voice!

  • Wait? Bambi was based on a book too?

  • @VTwinty Yeah. All of Disney's movies were based off Fairy Tales or books of the sort. He liked to bring the stories to life and add his own touch of "magic".

Only the real Bambi is a little more fucked up then Disney's, like all the original stories.

  • @VTwinty Yes it was

Bambi was based on a story by Felix Salten

  • @VTwinty Almost every truly classic Disney film is based on a book. (The most obvious exception is "The Lion King". In fact, I think the fact that the movie was not adapted from a book is what made it so popular.) Also, did you know that "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" segment form "Fantasia" was based on a poem by Gothe and then Paul Dukas wrote the musical score to tie in with it?

  • @bslatky The lion king was based on Hamlet

  • @VTwinty

Just keep this in mind: Most Disney classics are based on fairytales and storybooks.

  • this was my fav when i was a kid i saw it in the theater and became forever in love with it i waited and saved to buy it on vhs..and i still have it 2day,,box n all...

    lol..take that dvd

  • Its hard to hate the Disney classics !

    they are too wonderful !!!

  • wait a minute i thought the movie came out in 1994?

  • @ApRiL3706 Nope. This was first released to the cinemas in 1989 (1990 in the UK and Europe)

  • @chaoreturnsforgood76

Yes! 1990 in every countries and June 1991 in Japan...

  • @ApRiL3706 it probs came out in Australia in 1994

  • This is my all time favorite movie ^_^

  • i just cried a little ahaha. i really miss the old disney.

  • I remember seeing this when I was little and I was like "OAO MERMAIDS!"

  • It's a movie that inspires me to take fine arts! :))

  • Born in '94. Love this movie : 3

  • @heylinspongesprite

    me too!!!!

  • the best disney's movie........i still love it <3

  • I love how the starting audio was Vanessa not Ariel :)

  • aww this brings back my childhood. how i miss it and love this movie to death!

  • I loved this movie as a kid! Ariel was my favorite and i always wanted to be a mermaid! Disney at its best along with beauty and the beast!

  • when she flips how does she not get water in her ears!

  • *-*

  • The Little Mermaid was and still is one of my favorite movies. If anyone who didn't like the movie they were born in the late 90's or 2000's. Luckilly I was born in 92 and got a chance to see this. After i first saw it I was like wow. Watch this movie if it still comes on.

  • this movie had the best music and of course 1 of disneys best

  • Ah, I just watched this a few hours ago, truly one of Disney's bests

  • so true

  • epic!! ah!!

  • PLEASE tell me the name of the announcer in this trailer. I've heard him for over 20 years n I want to know his name. Also tell me how you found out his name.

  • @boru25 The announcer's name is Mark Elliot.

  • @SirenSima I've always wondered whatever happened to that guy. You never hear from him anymore.

  • @boru25 Mark Eliot

  • Believe it or not this film actually taught us a TERRIBLE lesson:

"A little compromise with evil is okay, as long as everything works out okay in the end!"

  • @bjnboy

Clearly the person who gave me a thumbs down needs their moral compass fixed.

  • I disabled the thumbs up/thumbs down a.k.a Comment Voting feature on YT

  • @bjnboy I'd actually like to blame that on budget constraints at the time. The story would've been much more developed if the developers weren't so strained with this movie. It could've been Disney's last hand-drawn film if it failed you know?

  • @Gernam12

But what was wrong with sticking to the original story? Disney actually did sometime in the 1950's when it was indevelopment.

  • @bjnboy Well, Disney has never really stuck with the original story. There are also plenty of adaptions that keep the original tale in tact, so you have other venders to check. Also, the original story had the mermaid fall in love with the prince, but she wasn't interested in the human world before, so that is twice the ridiculousness. The only difference is that she suffers for her shallowness.

  • i love this movie it's amazing..i just think they ruined it with part 2..part 2 was just simply horrible..part one was great =)

  • ah, the little mermaid is my FAVORITE Disney movie ever....more power to DISNEY...

  • I LOVE the Little Mermaid sooo much that I have the first VHS release and C.A.V. Laser Disc (both released in 1990). Secondly, the trailer makes the very first use of the second variant of the W.D. pictures logo (1990-2006) when the completed film first had the 1985 logo. Also, my girlfriend has red hair like Ariel.

  • Disney's The Little Mermaid,

will always be my favorite movie.

  • MY FAVORITE PRINCESS EVER!

  • I watched this so very many times as a child. Still love it!

  • without a shadow of a doubt this movie is a fond memory of my childhood. I never did get to see it when it first came out to theaters, but I wore my cousins vhs tape out watchin it.

  • I have this film on VHS and DVD-(where this trailer is ripped from)

  • yeh so do i... i think its from Lady and the Tramp. (Uk Trailer anyway)

  • @nikkib2903 This is NOT taken from any 1990 Disney VHS releases. The trailer and other extras were included on The Little Mermaid 2-Disc Special Edition (released in 2006) on DVD

  • nice! I didn't wear my cousins tape out but I think it spent much more time at my house.

  • i love the little mermaid its the best moviee

  • i loveeee THE Little mermaid soo much! :")

  • I love The Little Mermaid! One of my all-time favorites!

  • Great trailer!
