that is a kimalo back aro....... very very very rare and expensive.......
it was found in the mountains of the kimalo region and only 8 were found. They were then brought back by doctor jim parlor. Only a breeding pair was left to breed in their natural habitat.
He then tried to breed the ones he brought back but was un-sucessful. They were believed to only breed in the kimalo mountains!!
therefore, buying a kimalo aro could cost you $50,000
If you are going to get a red arowana get at least a 200 gal tank. That will be its home forever. Never move it, net it, or stress it, because of its value. And never feed it live fish, watching a $5,000 fish trashing itself over a 2c feeder in never good.
Very nice & beautifull red arowana. Anyway, i nid some advise frm u. As for nw i'm having silver arowana which is my first one. I bought it wen he was about 4" to 5" & nw he has grown up very beautifull til about 15" aldy. I'm planning to buy a red arowana but not sure hw to differentiate the quality & the real red arowana wen they r small. I also planning to buy an aquarium which i aldy saw in the shop, the size is about 5 feet x 2 1/2 feet, very nice. Please advise.....

@aPyromaniac96 why are they expensive? what's special about them? i only heard about arowanas yesterday
igorboIshevics88 2 years ago
I think because this Arowana (the type of fish) mean somethin to chinese or locals. they are a sign of wealth or luck or somethin.
Example: a pig. Germans believe they give luck.
Hope that helped you :)
aPyromaniac96 2 years ago
they r expensive because they are under the endangered animals list in World Wildlife Fund.
