Micheal Jackson actually provided the voice and song for the SImpsons and the Character they created for him to portray, Micheal Jackson also wanted to be credited on the cast as "John Jay Smith" so he wouldn't have taken away any star power or money away from the cast.

Michael Jackson voiced the character, but his record company wouldn't allow him to sing the song. The woman that voices Lisa Simpson has explained that. Michael chose the guys himself to sing like him though, and was there while he was doing it. You can look all of that up.
